The primary functions of this role are to 1) lead development/optimization/modification of robotics & automation solutions to meet evolving Global R&D needs and 2) apply a functional understanding of laboratory automation to create greater value and/or eliminate wasted effort/cost. Responsibilities Without supervision the incumbent must be: 1. proficient in developing and executing automation & robotic solutions to achieve desired goals or results. Proficient in performing against multiple projects in parallel. Mentor junior employees on activities execution to exploit new skills and ways of thinking. 2. proficient in analyses (statistical, if needed) of data to uncover new findings from R&D work. Train and develop junior employees. With broad supervision and coaching, the incumbent is expected to: 1. demonstrate the ability to identify and improve (streamline or increase value) R&D processes or activities being worked to create greater value and/or eliminate wasted effort/cost. Qualifications • BS/BS degree in Engineering, Laboratory Sciences or related field • Minimum 3 years of experience delivering laboratory automation & robotics systems in manufacturing or industrial laboratory environments. • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, LabVIEW, C/C++, or MATLAB. • Experience with automated test frameworks and data acquisition systems. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication, collaboration and documentation skills
