Key ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supports the Mission and Vision of the YMCA and builds community. Builds a personal training clientele to include one-on-one and small group training. Demonstrates clear explanations and exercise material with proper form and technique. Develops positive relationships with members and provides motivational support and guidance. Participates in Trainer Education Lectures for members. Tracks client progress. Follows up with each client in a timely manner and on a regularly scheduled basis. Meets or exceeds monthly personal training session goals as determined by the Health and Wellness Director. Actively promotes personal training services to members through outreach, demonstrations, and events. Operates all equipment properly and promptly reports any problems. Availability to work shifts on gym floor as support staff as needed. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures. Completes incident and accident reports, as necessary. Attends necessary trainings and meetings, as scheduled. Participates in YMCA-sponsored training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and maintain certifications. Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseRequirements: Two or Four-year degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred but not required.
