Nature and Scope:
Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Playcenter Attendant will provide care, lead activities, and ensure the safety of children between the ages of three months and twelve years. This position must perform duties in accordance with the policies, goals, mission, values and objectives established by the Metropolitan Atlanta YMCA, Branch Strategic Plan, Safety Protocols Including COVID-19, and Play Center Guidelines and Non-Negotiables. Emphasis will be placed on child safety, youth development, and high member engagement.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age and have experience working with youth in a structured setting.
Complete all required trainings prior to start; must obtain CPR certification within the first 30 days of employment.
A working knowledge of computers including MS Word and MS Excel is preferred.

Assist in the maintaining of accurate records for child check-in and check-out.

Implement value add membership activities such as parents night out, climbing wall, archery, etc.
Maintain any activity based training requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

KROC CENTER MISSION

SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Child Watch Attendant will be responsible for the nurture and supervision of all children participating in the temporary on-site care offered by the RJKCCC. The Child Watch Attendant will develop activities to entertain, teach, and mentor young children while their parents / guardians participate in Kroc programs and events. This 18 hour a week position will work the afternoon/evening shifts (3pm-close) and every other weekend.

As a Drop-in Child Care Attendant, you'll create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for children participating in our Drop-in Child Care program. You'll work directly with families, ensure every child feels valued, and help support our YMCA mission and core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
Demonstrate an understanding of, and the ability to put into practice the YMCA Mission Statement and Core Values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Ensure each guest is personally greeted warmly, welcomed into the program, and receives the “VIP TREATMENT” (Very important Person) during each and every visit. Responsible for ensuring that each guest follows check-in procedures.
Communicate, interact with, and assist all parents in a positive, helpful, friendly and genuine manner. Smiling, conversing and making eye contact with each parent and child is practiced.
Ensure each child's second visit is not exactly like the first, keeping guests interested and looking forward to future visits and surprises in our program.
Ensure that the entire Child Care area is kept neat, clean, organized and appealing to guests. Act as a contributing team member with all housekeeping tasks, cleaning/maintenance of equipment and routinely clean toys and equipment. Change crib sheets, walkers, and swings as needed.
Document and report accident/injury/incidents appropriately and in a timely manner.
Attend all staff meetings, trainings, and special cleaning days etc., as assigned by the Member Services & Marketing Director.

Appropriate dress and neat appearance, including complying with department dress code, along with a friendly and professional, positive attitude is always expected. All staff are required to change diapers and follow diaper changing guidelines. Must be comfortable feeding babies and/or assisting children with toilet training.

Nature and Scope:
