Nature and Scope:
Under direction of the Afterschool Director, the Afterschool Bus Driver provides safe transportation to and from program sites while maintaining a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals.
Minimum Requirements:
Be at least 21 years of age.
Provide sound, caring and positive leadership for youth
Recognize and implement safety standards during route.
Have a good understanding of the mission and values of the Y and be able to demonstrate and teach from those values.
Pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
Pass a driving record check to drive for the Y.
Attend the YMCA of Metro Atlanta defensive Driving Course.
Attend staff training.
CPR within 30 days of employment and maintain throughout employment.
Responsibilities:
Must have own transportation to travel to assigned location.
Must be available to work between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 6:30p.m., M-F
Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to commercial passenger vehicles (bus).
Be able to provide sound, caring and positive leadership for children

Must attend Bright From the Start, YMCA and other trainings as scheduled.
Consult with the Director(s) on concerns related to student(s) development or behavior.

Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility.
Stay updated on current issues regarding
Out of School
programs.
Promote, monitor, evaluate and ensure that all Out of School programs run smoothly with a high level of service to participants.
Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Branch and off-site Emergency procedures and any other required certifications and/or training required by the Metro Atlanta YMCA.
Assist as needed in all aspects of the YMCA and its community.
Responsible for maintaining and reporting incident/accident paperwork.
Other duties as assigned.

General Responsibilities

How you will make an impact:
Join our team as a Bus Driver and play a crucial role in the transportation services at Cherished Place Adult Day Services. You will ensure that our residents are safely transported by planning efficient routes and providing door-to-door service, ensuring they are received safely by staff or family. You serve as an ambassador of the Lutheran Home by always acting courteously and professionally, enhancing the organization's reputation. General Responsibilities
Bus monitors are responsible for assisting children with getting on and off the bus safely. They must also make sure that children are in their assigned seats. They must ensure that children get off the bus at the correct stop and are being released to the proper parent, guardian, or other authorized person.
Assessing the needs of children and others around them is important for a bus monitor. They should be able to teach children how to do things, like put their seat belts on or sit back and follow procedures.

Report for work on time to board the bus to leave the terminal to arrive at the first stop five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time.

Nature and Scope:
Under direction of the Lead Camp Counselor and/or Camp Director/Asst. Camp Director, the camp bus driver is responsible for the safety of all campers and staff while en route to and from day camp.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma completed
1-2 years' experience working with children in a structured setting

Required certifications current First Aid/CPR; must obtain any other certifications required for the position
