Sheriff Supplemental Job Information: View Document Performs specialized law enforcement work in the care and security of inmates in the holding area of the York/Poquoson Courthouse. Monitors the Control Room and ensures the security of inmates and Courthouse, and when transporting inmates for court appearances. Assist with the daily operations of the Riverwalk Landing Docks and the security and maintenance of dock facilities to include the office, the docks, and equipment associated to the operation of the docks. Responsible for assisting with the planning and implementation of the County of York Safety Town Program for rising kindergartners. Teaches life-saving lessons using safety themes regarding strangers, traffic, fire, pedestrian, gun, poison, drug, playground, bus, and weather safety. Organizes and leads children through class safety lessons and daily activities. Supervises children and activities to ensure safety standards are met at all times. Positions available with York County Parks and Recreation's Tennis Program. Program and operations begin March 1st through November, Monday - Friday and on Saturdays May 1 - October 1. Responsible for assisting with the implementation of a recreation camp program for school-age children (kindergarten through 12 th grade) with special needs. Makes recommendations for program adaptations to meet the needs of children with special medical conditions, dietary concerns, and/or behavioral problems. Assists with planning, promoting, organizing and implementing daily activities, special events, field trips, etc. Leads a variety of small and large group activities each week and adapts programs to include all campers. Provides guidance to the children in areas of personal care and behavioral issues and ensures safety standards are met at all times. Camp runs for 4 weeks from June 23 rd through July 18 th .
