I know this way late but I'm thinking about working at the Majestic hotel. How is the employee housing? I was told that everyone new gets the tent cabins. I'm hoping for a wob but I don't know if I'll be lucky enough...

I really like the housing. Some people are kinds nit picky about stuff, but I have always had a good experience. And yes most new people do get tent cabins, a wob would be a lucky score.

What do you think the better first jobs are to aim for? I was thinking hotel front desk and the village store.

That sorta depends on what sort of job you want. Front desk isn't a bad gig, but the village store gets crazy in the summer. You looking for something laid back where you have little supervision or...?

Do most of the employees that live in the valley use the bear boxes for food? Like would bringing a cooler be a good idea? Figure a bike is pretty needed too.

Yeah for the most part. A cooler is not really needed, but it wouldn't hurt to bring it. Anything that need to be stored in a refrigerator can be stored in the communal fridges, however those get chaotic so having a lockale box of some sorts is a good idea.

Any advice on how to get a job/where to look for a job in Yosemite?

Honestly it is as easy as looking up "Yosemite jobs". From there it should lead to Aramarks website. There are really no special skills required, and even with little to no job experience you shouldn't have alot of trouble finding something up here.

My boyfriend decided to go for it and we will be working in Yosemite this summer! We're so excited! I have a quick question, though. Do DNC employees have access to mailboxes for U.S. mail?

You can buy a PO box. I recommend getting one at the lodge. You have access to your packages 24 hours.
