    The Custodian is responsible for ensuring effective physical cleanliness of all assigned facility areas. Custodian will interact with a diverse, Y-Haven client and staff population responding quickly to custodial and other physical needs, including packing and moving resident belongings as they arise. Inform management of any foreseeable problems with the facility. Ensure excellent program service by addressing resident concerns in a timely fashion and providing a clean and safe facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Prepare resident rooms for occupancy, including cleaning floors, walls, kitchens, bathrooms, appliances inside and out, linens, etc... There are 250 resident rooms in the Y-Haven facility. Organize and instruct volunteer(s) in conducting cleaning activities. Conduct client move outs as needed including packing and storing all belongings. Respond to cleaning and emergencies. Assist and/or perform projects of a special nature such as floor care, painting, furniture moving, etc. Perform cleaning tasks as assigned to ensure a clean and well-kept facility. Perform routine housekeeping/custodial tasks as per daily schedule. Communicate and follow-up with Y-Haven administration on any building maintenance issues. Make detergent/germicide solution according to manufacturer's formula. Follow manufacturer's procedures for use of product. Ensure all safety and risk management procedures are adhered to; report any unusual or unsafe conditions to supervisor. Report unusual conditions, low level of supplies, and items needing repair to supervisor. Ensure proper supply levels of toilet tissue, paper towels, soap, and any other service provided. All employees of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland are mandated reporters for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect. QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Ability to read, write and understand directions. High school diploma or equivalent.Experience: 1-2 years of building housekeeping experience. At least one year work experience with drug and alcohol addiction and/or 12-step recovery programs preferred. Certification(s) and Requirements: CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 90 days of hire. Sit or stand for extended periods of time Reach above shoulder heights, below waist or lift as required to complete the job responsibilities Proper lifting techniques, must be able to lift 75 - 100 pounds. Raising objects from lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This requirement occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Must be able to balance, climb, crouch, grasp, kneel, pull, push, reach, stand and stoop adequately to perform the essential functions of the job. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy. May be required to work outside and on occasion may encounter inclement weather. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assure Recovery Housing programs meet their program outcome goals, includingprogram enrollment and census requirements, employment, permanent housing, relapseprevention, overdose prevention, etc. Assure Recovery Housing program meets Y-Haven/YMCA goals of serving the wholeperson (Mind/Body/Spirit), fostering a welcoming and hospitable community, andtreating all persons with dignity and respect. Monitor and maintain operational aspects for the Recovery Housing program includingbut not limited to: resident housing, program fees, outcome data management, residentreferrals and admissions, medication monitoring compliance, monthly reports. Hire, train and supervise clinical staff and lead team to achievement of program goals:recovery, employment and permanent housing.
