The Custodian is responsible for ensuring effective physical cleanliness of all assigned facility areas. Custodian will interact with a diverse, Y-Haven client and staff population responding quickly to custodial and other physical needs, including packing and moving resident belongings as they arise. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Prepare resident rooms for occupancy, including cleaning floors, walls, kitchens, bathrooms, appliances inside and out, linens, etc... There are 250 resident rooms in the Y-Haven facility. Organize and instruct volunteer(s) in conducting cleaning activities. Conduct client move outs as needed including packing and storing all belongings. Respond to cleaning and emergencies. Assist and/or perform projects of a special nature such as floor care, painting, furniture moving, etc. Perform cleaning tasks as assigned to ensure a clean and well-kept facility. Perform routine housekeeping/custodial tasks as per daily schedule. Communicate and follow-up with Y-Haven administration on any building maintenance issues. Make detergent/germicide solution according to manufacturer's formula. Follow manufacturer's procedures for use of product. Ensure all safety and risk management procedures are adhered to; report any unusual or unsafe conditions to supervisor. Report unusual conditions, low level of supplies, and items needing repair to supervisor. Ensure proper supply levels of toilet tissue, paper towels, soap, and any other service provided. QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Ability to read, write and understand directions. High school diploma or equivalent.Experience: 1-2 years of building housekeeping experience. Resident Coordinator

The Residential Coordinator (RC) will coordinate and oversee residential services provided to Y-Haven residents during night and weekend shifts. In addition to Residential Monitor duties, the RC will lead the team of 4 Resident Monitors on each shift, providing consultation, direction, crisis intervention, data entry, training and shift personnel coordination. The RC will lead the Resident Monitor shift team in providing a safe and secure living environment for Y-Haven residents, testing residents for drugs/alcohol, monitoring resident behavior, and performing scheduled medication monitoring. The RC serves as the shift liaison to the Y-Haven Operations Director and is first point of contact for crises and situations that require coordination and supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Provide on-board training to new Resident Monitors.• Consult with Resident Monitors on drug/alcohol testing results.• Provide consultation and intervention to Resident Monitors during a crisis or situations that require additional supervision.• Serve as liaison between Resident Monitor staff and other Y-Haven staff (eg. Director of Operations, On-call clinician) • Document Urinalysis results in Y-Haven Electronic Medical Record.• Assist in finding staff to fill-in for call offs. The Lifeguard position creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintaining a safe swimming enviornment in the pool, deck and surrounding areas in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Actively maintainces current CPR, First Aid, other required YMCA certifications, held by a recognized certifying organization (Red Cross, ASHI, Y of the USA, Etc.).
Reports to work on time and with appropriate safety equipment (fanny pack) and appropriate clothing.
Ensure safety of all participants in the aquatics area at all times of operation.
Adhere to Blood borne Pathogen standards and completes annual training.
Notify supervisor of any faulty equipment or unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
Document any incidents that occur during shift (on daily basis) and notifies supervisor.
Be visibly involved with members, volunteers and staff in a positive, friendly manner, while maintaining the safety of the aquatic's environment.
Tests and documents the water are required by city, county, state and federal health requirements.
Keeps the pool area free of clutter and accessible at all times, so it does not hinder the lifeguard (s) ability to respond in an emergency.
Follow all established policies and procedures, including but not limited to, safety practices and personnel policies.
Participate in and support association events and fund-raising activities.
Secures required trainings and/or certifications necessary for the position.
Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Attends monthly in-service training and provides work avalibility to supervisor in a timely manner.
Monitor chlorine, PH levels/ and track water temperature hourly.
Conducts regular/ frequent sanitation of all equipment (rescue and member used), and assigned areas as outlined by the employer and supervisor.
Must report to work on time, with appropriate supplies and in uniform for all scheduled shifts.
Responsible for following the child abuse and neglect reporting process including completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form, calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate Supervisor, Branch Executive, Risk Management and Human Resources Department (s). All employees of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland are mandated reporters for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Prior experience helpful, but not required
Certification(s) and Requirements:
CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire.
Hold current YMCA Lifeguard certification (or hold a valid Red Cross Lifeguard certification and attend YMCA Crossover within ninety (90) days of employment).
WSI certification a plus
Must be at least 16 years of age
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to read, write and understand written directions.
Demonstrate commitment to the mission, cause of the YMCA, and uphold its values and ethics.
Ability to work effectively work with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions
Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect. All employees are required to follow the child abuse and neglect reporting process: completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form, calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate supervisor, branch executive, risk management and human resources department (s).
