As Energy Assistance Workers you will be processing initial benefit applications as well as CRISIS applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). This is a full-time, seasonal position that typically runs for 6-8 months during the fall and winter seasons to assist clients in the process of applying for heating assistance. After receiving on the job training, you will be performing various duties such as interviewing clients, acting as a liaison with heating vendors, reviewing and completing applications received in order to recommend approval or disapproval of benefits consistent with Federal and State Regulations. The majority of this job is completion work through data entry. Work assignments are limited in scope and performed under close supervision of an Income Maintenance Casework Supervisor who reviews work for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to the program regulations. You may perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Seasonal full-time employment.
The season runs from approximately October to April, but employment may begin as early as September and last until June.
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Job Requirements
We are looking for a Craftsman with a strong work ethic, a professional appearance and demeanor, and a good overall knowledge of all trades-from Carpentry, Tiling, Painting, and Drywalling to light Plumbing and Electrical. Purpose:

* Completes annual competencies as required by department

* Promotes effective communication and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork within the department, the hospital and with other health care professionals.
* Upon request by Manager, assists with staff development, special projects and community programs

* Active membership in professional organization(s) and recent experience in Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehabilitation preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
