Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Family Support Worker (FSW) provides home-based clinical and social services to families referred through the SafeCare Program. The goal is to reduce the risk of abuse and neglect of children in the home. These services are designed to enhance parents' skills and knowledge in addressing child development, bonding with their child, reducing child's access to risky environments, and addressing the medical and health needs of the child. Services also identify risk factors of the parent/caregivers (including violence, substance abuse, and mental health issues), and assist directly in reducing risk as well as accessing more intensive services to address these risks. The FSW also receives consultation in the service model which includes observing provision of services in the home of the families and providing direct consultation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Implement the SafeCare (SC) model to families
Provide written information about the program services including Consent for Services Forms and Families' Rights and Confidentiality Policy to prospective participants
Provide home-based parent education and support services
Complete a Genogram of the families assigned to the caseload
Complete the OSDH evaluation forms within the time frame established
Administer, score, and report the different screenings use by the model
Develop an individual Goal Plan according to family's strengths and needs
Maintain a weight caseload of 12 to 13 (based on full-time)
Promote positive parent-child interaction, healthy childhood growth and development
Improve the family's support system by linking the family with needed services
Provide transportation as needed
Participate in a minimum of one hour of weekly individual supervision and in a minimum of one hour of weekly group supervision
Collaborate with agencies for public awareness and advocacy through community outreach activities
Maintain proper documentation, records on file, and Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) within 48 hours
Comply with the guidelines of the Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) the Safe Care National Center and the Oklahoma State Health Department
Program Requirements
FSW will meet fidelity to the SC model within six months of employment. Providers will have consultants shadow them on average of twice per month to ensure fidelity to model.
FSW will provide services which are sensitive with respect to culture, ethnic origin, race, gender, religion and sexual orientation.
FSW will provide services to Spanish-speaking families in their primary language.
FSW will provide motivational interviewing and problem solving in the areas of Substance Abuse, Domestic Violence and Mental Health.
FSW will conduct themselves in a professional manner when dealing with other service providers in order to maintain good working relationships in the community and with consultants.
FSW will attend all required trainings and participate in ongoing consultation with program trainers.

Document appropriate counseling information, such as participant name, date, and time spent with participants in clinic records within 24 hours of contact
Complete and turn in Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Monthly Activity Report to the local Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Coordinator by the fifth day of the following month
Breastfeeding Peer Counselors will make immediate referrals according to the individual local agency's established referral system when they encounter:
Breastfeeding problems outside the normal breastfeeding experience.
Breastfeeding problems that are not resolved within 24 hours of the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor's intervention.
Problems in an area other than breastfeeding.
Issues beyond their scope of expertise.
Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience requirements consist of a high school diploma or equivalent. Breastfeeding Peer Counselors are a special group of women who are able to model good parenting skills, as well as breastfeeding skills. Their responsibilities will include being positive role models and positive representatives of WIC and the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor program. When recruiting Breastfeeding Peer Counselors, local agencies shall choose mothers who meet all of the following criteria:
Are receiving or have received WIC services
Have successfully breastfed at least one baby (do not currently have to be breastfeeding, however at least six months of breastfeeding experience is preferred)
Possesses good communication skills
Have access to a telephone and reliable transportation
Are enthusiastic about breastfeeding and have a desire to help other mothers enjoy a positive experience

Extensive training will be provided to new employees.
Annual Salary
Level I H23A - $37,280.75 + Full State Employee Benefits
Level II H23B - $40,077.79 + Full State Employee Benefits
Level III H23C - $43,968.62 + Full State Employee Benefits
Applicants who possess a Master's Degree in Social Work will be entitled to a salary incentive of an additional 5%.
On-call positions will receive an additional bonus ranging from $75 to $100 every two weeks, depending on responsibilities.
Travel is EXTENSIVE. Must possess a valid driver's license and must maintain required car insurance. State vehicles will be available for use to carry out the duties of the position.
Minimum Qualifications
Child Welfare Specialist, Level I
Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university.
OR 3 years of experience related to child welfare work.
OR a combination of education and experience.
Child Welfare Specialist, Level II
A bachelor's degree (in any field) to qualify.
OR one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Child Welfare Specialist, Level III
A Master's degree.
OR a Bachelors Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
OR Two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Job Duties
All New Employees will complete the Child Welfare Core Academy Training Program
Resource Family staff provides day-to-day operations, planning, and oversight of foster care and adoption activities. This includes maintenance of all foster, kinship, and adoptive families.
Delivers in-home support and social work services for families applying or approved for adoption or foster care.
Provides training and consultation to foster families and other placement providers.
Completes family assessments and reassesses annually.
Reviews child's history and coordinates placement of children.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Assist with supervising a safe and well-organized childcare program by planning and participating in-group activities with children at a designated day camp site. This is a very high energy program requiring positive interaction with the children continually throughout the day.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend all Scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
Establish a positive relationship with each child.
Develop positive relationships with parents and staff.
Develop weekly activities for a group of 12 children.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children. This includes ensuring children apply sunscreen and stay hydrated.
Know where all group members are at all times.
Lead games and activities.
Maintain appearance of camp through cleanliness and set-up.
Take daily attendance and see that each child is signed in and out by a responsible party each day.
Actively engage children and participants in activities.
Prepare and distribute USDA and HEPA approved snacks and/or meals to participants.
Perform daily count of meals and snacks served.
Report all injuries and incidences to the Director or Coordinator.
Display YMCA character values (Honesty, caring, respect, and responsibilities at all times.)
Required to Swim at least two times per week.
