Position Summary Youth For Tomorrow (YFT) has one opening in the Education Department. YFT is seeking one Special Education Teacher to become part of a great team and an administration who values professional development along with serving children and families. The Teacher will play a vital role in supporting student success through a variety of instructional methods, educational materials, and technology. This position requires collaboration with (LEAs) to manage, review, schedule, and write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The Teacher will also assist general education staff and ensure accurate communication and documentation of school and student information. A key responsibility of this role is maintaining ongoing communication and collaboration with internal departments, including House Coordinators, Therapists, Case Managers, and other Teachers, to ensure each student's care is comprehensive and continuously advancing. The ideal candidate will be committed to utilizing all available resources and strategies to promote student growth and achievement. Qualifications Must possess at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with the emphasis being on Special Education Must possess a Certification by the Virginia State Department of Education. Bilingual preferred but not required. Must also be able to manage documentation and other tasks with technology. Role & Responsibilities Effectively assist YFT teachers and school administration in the education of at-risk youth in a residential setting. Use techniques, strategies, methods, and resources to assist teachers with teaching required material to students as directed. Position Summary The TFC Family Specialist provides case management and therapeutic services to clients, the clients biological and treatment foster families, and coordinates adjunct therapeutic services. Responsibilities include completing assessments; developing, implementing, evaluating and revising individual treatment plans; documenting client and family progress; coordinating treatment teams and staff meetings; assessing, supervising, training and supporting treatment foster families. Supervision is provided by the Director of Foster Care Services and/or the Assistant TFC Supervisor. This is a full-time exempt position with a flexible work schedule designed to meet client and family needs. Role and Responsibilities Provide therapeutic services to assigned clients and families. As the treatment team coordinator, develop, implement, evaluate and revise all treatment plans of assigned clients and prepare written reports. Lead and direct team meetings, participate in organizational meetings, court proceedings, multi disciplinary reviews and other meetings as necessary. Provide consultation, coaching and training to assigned treatment foster families. Implement YFT policies and procedures, mission, treatment philosophy, goals and objectives of YFT, Inc. Counsel children and families in preparation for placement and discharge. Prepare and maintain case records and foster home records of assigned clients and families. Ensure that records meet YFT, state licensing, Counsel on Accreditation (COA), and Joint Commission Standards. Coordinate client services to ensure continuity of care for children and families. Develop and facilitate therapeutic and support groups as assigned. Provide on-call duties after hours as assigned. Participate in committees as requested. Attendance at all training mandated by YFT. All duties and responsibilities will support meeting the structured program of care outlined in DBHDS and DSS state standards (DBHDS: 12VAC 35-46-800; DSS: 22 VAC 40-151-720; 22 VAC 40-131-130). Other duties as assigned by the CEO or Supervisors. Qualifications Master's degree in human service field with one year of experience providing casework services to children and families; or Baccalaureate degree in a human service field with one year of experience providing casework services to children and families; or Baccalaureate degree in any field plus two years' experience providing casework services to children and families. Must have a valid driver's license and driving record within guidelines established by YFT insurance underwriters. Candidate must be able to pass FBI fingerprinting background check to work in a Children's Residential Facility, Health screening for TB and Immunization records.
