Support in the development of programming, events and activities based on school, parent, and student interests/needs to help foster the critical thinking and independence of students. With a focus on social and emotional learning, academic enrichment, community service, leadership, fine and performing arts, and health & wellness.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary contact for parent and community programming at the school,· Plan, coordinate, and manage a comprehensive, inclusive, and culturally responsive parent and family engagement approach consisting of workshops, classes and activities for adults at their local school.· Coordinates and provides direct outreach to parents, caregivers, and community members to champion authentic parent engagement.
Support the Resource Coordinator with planning and facilitating monthly Leadership Team meetings with school, parents, and community leaders. Including supporting with needs assessment and reviewing parent data collaboratively.
Collaborate with parents and community partners to meet parents' needs in leadership development, social-emotional learning (SEL), health services, and other areas of support.
Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and family-friendly environment that honors racial justice, equity, and cultural relevance.
Support and elevate parent voice in school decisions by building relationships with parents and caregivers including conducting surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one conversations to understand parent needs and concerns. Provide opportunities for ongoing feedback.
Lead recruitment and retention efforts for adult participants
Provide ongoing support and resources to students and parents, connecting them to school, community, and organizational resources holistically.
Provides leadership for successful implementation of the Annual Youth Guidance Parent Leadership Conference (PLC). Works with school staff to ensure active parent engagement in the PLC.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all parent involvement activities, including reports, surveys, funding documentation, annual program evaluations, and communications with families.
Ensure timely and effective completion of all program deliverables, meeting reporting requirements and deadlines.
Attend relevant meetings, including team meetings, school-led meetings, community events, parent meetings, and other stakeholder gatherings.
Complete all required training and compliance requests.
Adhere to the established program schedule and proactively communicate with supervisor in advance regarding any anticipated absences and changes in availability.
Maintain a professional work ethic, appropriate appearance, and adherence to the dress code of the school and Youth Guidance, while consistently representing the organization in a positive and respectful manner at all times.

Education/Experience/Training
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required from an accredited university
3-5 years of relevant experience

Position Summary:
The Sustainable Community Schools (SCS) Resource Coordinator at Mather High School is a central leader in implementing the SCS model-a transformative, justice-centered approach to education rooted in racial equity, community self-determination, and whole child development. This role bridges school, family, and community partnerships to dismantle oppressive systems, foster healing, and create sustainable systems of support. The SCS Resource Coordinator is responsible for managing and expanding the Sustainable Community school programs. Key duties include recruiting student participants, coordinating developmentally appropriate activities, engaging parents, and supervising staff and subcontractors. The Resource Coordinator also maintains accurate financial records, relevant operational metrics, collaborates with community members and organizations to provide services that meet the needs of students and families, and promotes the program to support growth and sustainability. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
· Facilitate whole-school and community planning aligned with SCS principles and pillars.
· Provide leadership and supervision to program staff, guiding the team to deliver high quality programming for students, families, and the community.
· Ensure all program staff and partner organizations comply with Youth Guidance policies, guidelines, and compliance requirements.
· Create and maintain a developmentally appropriate multi-age program in collaboration with parents, students, teachers, and school administrators.
· Effectively manage and develop a program schedule that aligns with school-day programming and dismissal procedures, ensuring a smooth and consistent experience for students.
· Offer staff coaching, modeling, and follow-up support to reinforce skills and promote consistent conflict resolution, behavior management techniques, and student supports.
· Help to develop, convene and maintain a representative SCS Leadership Team that includes youth, parents, educators, school staff, and community members that meet monthly.
· Facilitate neighborhood and school Needs and Asset Assessment process with the Leadership Team to strategize goals, budget priorities, and program planning.
· Maintain open and regular communication and collaboration with all stakeholders (Principals, Leadership Team, Advisory Boards, Grant/Program Coordinators, etc.).
· Support shared leadership by encouraging equitable participation, decision-making, and goal-setting across all school groups.
· Ensure complete compliance with all requirements by maintaining accurate documentation and submitting all necessary reports promptly.
· Coordinate and oversee program activities, ensuring accurate maintenance of enrollment data, consent forms, and attendance records.
· Actively develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and recruit plan to promote programs, services and/or events to target audiences, including students, families, and the community,
· Oversee budget management, including the procurement of materials and supplies, and ensure the maintenance of accurate financial records, data, and statistical reports in accordance with organizational and compliance standards.
· Build and maintain collaborative partnerships within the community to support the collective vision.
· Recruit and oversee vendors and contracted services providers to ensure high quality curriculum aligned with school needs, program goals, and adherence to agreed-upon terms and policies.
· Participate in professional development, coaching, and communities of practice. Work closely with SCS teams across the district to share learning and strengthen practice.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience/Training
· Bachelor degree or equivalent of sixty college credit hours required
· Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children and/or adults in a non-profit, social service or community development organization
Skills/Abilities
· Deep commitment to racial justice, equity, and community-led decision-making
· Proven experience in community organizing, youth development, education, or related fields
· Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders
· 1-2 years of experience working with elementary or high school age youth
· Ability to understand and interpret the policies, procedures, and general organizational structure of the Chicago Public Schools

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Recruit and maintain a caseload of up to 20-24 children/pregnant mothers.
Conduct biweekly (weekly if needed) visits and submit weekly schedules.
Work jointly with the parent to obtain the necessary documentation needed to complete intake and other program requirements.
Assist in maintaining at minimum 100% enrollment rate throughout the program year utilizing various outreach and recruitment strategies.
Complete, update, and maintain all required Parent as Teacher (PAT), DFSS, program/agency forms.
Work jointly with parents to develop home visit and activity plans based on each child's assessment and identified family needs.
Collaborate with the team, plan and facilitate monthly parent and child activities for Group Connections.
Maintains families engaged. Encourage parent participation in literacy activities, parent workshops, group connections and other events or trainings.
Responsible for data entry into the program's data system and maintaining all required documentation in child's/pregnant mother's binders; keeping all information confidential.
Complete developmental assessments/screenings and family needs assessment with families as needed to meet program's requirements.
Complete required ASQ screenings to identify children with special needs and makes the necessary referrals to appropriate staff.
Develops with parent input, an individualized family support plan.
Serve as an advocate for families and as a liaison between families, the program, and the larger community.
Work in collaboration with other staff for the recruitment and enrollment of eligible families.
Collaborates with team to create new MOU's/Partnerships with agencies/organizations that provide services to pregnant women, children and their families.
Maintains communication with supervisor and agency staff.
Participate in on-going training and staff development provided by SGA, Program Director, other consultants, workshops and conferences.
Attend regularly scheduled team and agency staff meetings/trainings.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
BA / Associate Degree in Child Development or related field
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with young children ages 0-3 years old and/or parents.
Other Requirements:
Must successfully complete Parents as Teachers Model Certification training.
Must be familiar with sensitivity to cultural diversity is required. Ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse families, various professionals and community groups.
Must be able to make home visits to present, prospective and former clients in the clients' own home.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees or the organization.
Exercises discretion and independent judgment in executing tasks.
Must demonstrate the ability to establish helping relationships with families of varying educational, experiential and socio-economic backgrounds and handle emergency and crisis situations.
Valid driver's license, car insurance and access to automobile.
Bilingual preferred (Spanish)
KEY COMPETENCIES:
Competent in Microsoft Office tools and inputting services in an online database.
Home Visitors must receive training in education, nutrition, and other topics relevant for the position, and must plan and implement appropriate family/parent educational activities and function as a member of the program team.
Schedule may be flexible and may include some evening and weekends.

Must be able to frequently move inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Must be able to transport oneself to and from home visits.

At times may be required to lift up to 25 lbs. for various classrooms and event's needs.

This position will manage a creative placemaking project in the Cook County suburb of Summit. The project will consist of three community beautification projects led by outside consultants: a senior gardening component, a middle school mosaic component and a high school mural component.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate all aspects of Summit Together Creative Placemaking program including ensuring that creative partners fulfill program deliverables;
Serve as liaison to funder and attend all funder check-ins and cohort learning sessions;
Develop and ensure adherence to program timeline ending August 31, 2026;
Serve as primary liaison to program location partners and contractual creative partners;
Engage cross-sector involvement to ensure equity and effectively integrate community voice;
Work with community stakeholders to recruit youth and senior program participants;
Facilitate community consensus-building processes and sessions to develop a shared vision and messaging;
Create and manage community events and gatherings associated with creative projects, including a family event for mosaics placement, intergenerational garden event and final mural ribbon cutting ceremony;
Attend senior and youth programming as possible in coordination with creative partners;
Perform ongoing outreach to engage participation by Summit Community Network members and residents;
Provide project updates at United Way Summit Community Network meetings;
Responsible for implementing program evaluation in cooperation with SGA evaluation team;
Meet weekly with Program Manager to review project timeline and deliverables;
Serve as liaison to affiliated SGA projects such as Racial Healing, as assigned;
Assist SGA Communications team and Project Coordinator in developing and implementing media outreach and public awareness campaigns;
Other duties as assigned.

Duties for Direct ServicesWith Child in Placement:

Ensure child's needs are met through YSB programs or linkage with outside agencies.

The Fatherhood Group Facilitator (Part-time) provides supportive case management services to fathers in the Englewood community, as part of the Strong Fathers Strong Families program. This program works together to strengthen and support low-income, minority fathers by helping them to strengthen their relationships with their children, families and communities. The Strong Fathers Strong Families program will provide services directly to fathers, collaborate with early childhood programs, in particular the doulas, to improve their ability to include fathers in services to families and inform and advocate for policy decisions that directly impact fathers and their families.
In addition to providing case management services, the role will facilitate fathers' skills-based and support groups, as well as plan father-child enrichment activities in the community. The Father Outreach Worker provides ongoing support to fathers and through the utilization of needs assessments and individual family support plans. This position coordinates with local referral partners to ensure the needs of each participant is fully met.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Facilitate weekly and/or bi-weekly group parenting classes using a specialized curriculum designed for the unique experiences of Fathers
Facilitate Fatherhood Support Group where fathers meet to give and receive support in a nonjudgmental space
Provide one-on-one coaching tailored support to address individual fathers' specific needs, challenges, and goals.
Provide practical support of case management and referrals for other services like job training, housing, or legal aid. Provide practical support, hands-on assistance and immediate resources that fathers need to fulfill their roles effectively, focusing on direct and tangible benefits.
Plan father-child activities, such as field trips, multi-generational group activities, and father-child events
Provide supplemental services, offering additional support that enhances the overall well-being of fathers and their families, contributing to long-term stability and personal growth.
Provide peer mentoring connecting fathers with experienced mentors who provide guidance, support, and encouragement
Collaborate with trained doulas to provide prenatal and postnatal education to provide fathers with education on pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care, helping them to understand their partner's experiences and how they can support them.
The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:
Two years experience working in a strength-based environment with fathers and families.
Knowledge and skills in working with families in crisis or trauma exposed situations.
Group facilitation expertise
Competency in understanding and working with diverse cultures and populations
Work related travel required so applicant will need access to reliable transportation
Understands the developmental stages and needs of children
Basic computer skills - word processing, email, internet research, on-line timesheet.
Flexible schedule. Some evening and Saturdays meeting hours will be required. Weekends would be sporadic.
