A degree in communications, public relations, urban planning, public policy, public administration or related field is preferred. Foreign degrees and credentials will be considered.
Compensation: The minimum starting pay is $70,000. The offered pay rate will be subject to experience and qualifications. GNRC provides a fully paid pension through the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System and offers a dollar for dollar match to a 401k up to 3% of gross salary. The Experience of Service as a Mentor Guide:

•Participate in the Virtual Call Center by greeting and connecting with Volunteers as they arrive and during their shift to maintain support.

Essential Functions Include:
Role: The mentor's role is to support their mentees by:
· Empowering them to resolve current issues and to develop coping strategies for the future.
· Provide a model for a healthy, trusting relationship through clear communication and setting appropriate boundaries.
· Acknowledging their strengths, talents and gifts and encouraging them to find ways to use them.
· Be an active listener and offer support and encouragement when appropriate.
· Engage in activities outside of the home to help expose youth to new opportunities and experiences.
Responsibilities:
· Complete application process, consisting of written application, references, interview, background checks and volunteer training.
· Monthly supervision/support groups with the Volunteer Coordinator.
· Maintain confidentiality of participants. · Clear communication with the family, Caseworker and Volunteer Coordinator.
Qualifications:
· Willingness to provide emotional, social, and practical support within limits.
· Knowledge of one's boundaries and ability to set limits with others.
· Recognition that all people have strengths and they need to discover and use them.
· Valid driver's license and insurance.
· Completed background check and training.
Time Commitment :
· Prepare for, and achieve closure at the end of 6 months or other determined time.
· 6-10 hours a month and at least 2 activities a month.
· Phone contact within reason.
Site:
· Various locations in the community as arranged between the mentor and mentee.
· A mentor is not to bring a mentee to his/her home.
Supervision/Training:
· Monthly supervision/training groups provided by the Volunteer Coordinator.
· Individual meetings with Volunteer Coordinator when necessary.

Summary:
The Ohio History Connection's Muffins & Diamonds vintage base ball volunteer team shares the history of the sport with people throughout the state of Ohio and beyond. Educating the public, through demonstration and interpretation of nineteenth-century base ball, is primary focus of the program. Volunteers wear period costuming and play by 1860s base ball rules.
Essential Functions:
Deliver educational programs about vintage base ball for audiences of diverse backgrounds which may include school-age children, young adults, educators, seniors, visitors with special needs, and those for whom English is not their first language
Willingness to play vintage base ball in period clothing by 1860s rules and/or enthusiasm about sharing baseball history with the public
Demonstrate good sportsmanship on and off the field
Interact with program participants and visitors in a professional, positive, courteous, and engaging manner
Ensure program materials are properly handled and maintained
Assist with the set-up and take-down of program materials
Required Competencies:
Must be at least 18 years of age of age to volunteer for the Muffins (men's team) & at least 16 years of age to volunteer with the Diamonds (women's team)
Must complete a background check and volunteer onboarding paperwork
Must create and account, log volunteer hours and sign up for volunteer shifts via Track It Forward
Must attend professional development and volunteer meetings
