St. Gabriel is seeking a full-time D/CCYP to organize, implement, supervise, and evaluate athletic, cultural, social, community service, and spiritually enriching activities primarily for ages 12 through 18 years of age. The D/CCYP is responsible for recruiting and training volunteers and paid facilitators in support of said activities. All activities are performed under the supervision of the Pastor.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing committed to the authentic teachings of the Catholic Faith.
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university.
  • One year of experience at a trainee level, administering a limited program of activities for a Catholic, private, or public youth-oriented program, involving more than an athletic activity. Three references required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, plan, and coordinate a limited program of athletic, cultural, and social recreation activities, to meet the needs and interests of the community and various age groups (primarily 12 to 18), which at the same time foster development of strong Catholic character, virtues, good sportsmanship, and self-confidence.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and paid facilitators in support of specific activities; conduct periodic training and meetings on-site.
  • Collaborate with Director/Coordinator of Religious Education and Adult Faith Formation (D/CRE) to offer age specific retreats and/or days of recollection for youth and support staff.
  • Coordinate community service projects as approved by the Pastor.
  • Collaborate with other members of the parish staff to plan and schedule activities in Annex/Gym; member of the Pastoral Council and attend monthly meetings; contribute to the parish outreach plans for evangelization, particularly among local youth and their families.
  • Implementation of the Safe Environment Program is required, including securing clearances for volunteers and paid facilitators.

  • Organize, teach, and lead people of diverse age groups, while exercising tact and good judgement.
  • Outstanding organizational, scheduling, and computer skills
  • Effective conflict resolution approaches and customer service best practices.

The Youth Apprenticeship Program at Quad provides High School juniors and seniors the opportunity to gain real-life experience and universal skills via work shadowing, company education classes and career based training programs. During this one- or two-year program Youth Apprentices will job shadow in various departments with teams of subject matter experts so they can learn where their interests and skills may lie when they join the workforce in the future.



This position starts at $15/hr.



Responsibilities:




Maintain the academic and attendance requirements to participate in the Youth Apprenticeship Program.
Observe company rules and other requirements identified by the employer
Participate in progress reviews scheduled with mentors, school personnel and parent(s) or guardian(s).
Complete program/company training requirements.
Demonstrate maturity and responsibility
Responsible for transportation to and from workplace.




Qualifications:




Meet the requirements of the particular program and demonstrate competency as set forth in the program goals.
Meet academic requirements for the program including a passing grade/score in courses required for admission to the Youth Apprenticeship Program.
Attend all scheduled shadowing and training under the Youth Apprenticeship program




What Youth Apprentices can expect during their time at Quad:



Part One:




Attend training sessions focused primarily on safety requirements, industry requirements and what to do in emergency situations
High level rotations through different departments focused on production to learn about how each plays a part in the overall Manufacturing process
Gain an understanding of the overall Manufacturing process, including product creation from start to finish and processes involved in creating a quality product
Gain experience and understanding of planning process, how to communicate effectively and collaborating in a team setting
Learn about Company Culture, Values, Leadership and other Manufacturing industry related topics




Part Two:




Learn how various types of tools and advanced equipment and machinery, are used and operated
Learn to read and interpret different technical drawings, work orders/job tickets, symbols, documents and manuals
Learn the product assembly process, quality and safety checks and process for selecting different tools and materials needed throughout the product creation process
Gain understanding of different types of machinery, job shadow how they are operated and monitored for correct operation
Learning preventative maintenance techniques, troubleshooting and problem solving




Hour requirements for Youth Apprentices to obtain program credits (for Juniors & Seniors):



2 Year Program - Total of 900 hours min.



1 Year Program - Total of 450 hours min.

Under the direction of the Executive Director of Recreation and Wellness, the Director for Sport and Youth Programs is responsible for the administration and development of a large and complex club and intramural sports program, youth programs, sport-centered special events, and leadership development.

**In this role you will:**

+ Provide engaged leadership and supervision of professional staff including three Assistant Directors, a club sport Athletic Trainer, and both full-time and part-time Club Sports coaches.

+ Provide leadership and direction to ensure that the Club Sport and Intramural programs offer engagement and leadership opportunities.

+ Implement communication strategies including the management of a comprehensive club sport website.

+ Supervise Camp Cardinal, Recreation and Wellness' youth program, primarily focusing on supporting the successful implementation of a large, complex summer youth day camp.

+ Manage athlete and team administrative responsibilities including: facility use and scheduling, team travel, fundraising, compliance, assumption of risk/waivers, accident reports, insurance and risk management, athlete eligibility, post-season competition, development efforts, alumni relations, standard operating procedures, and coach employment.

+ Actively participate as a member of the department Leadership Team; proactively contribute to strategic planning for Recreation and Wellness.

**To be successful in this position, you will bring:**

**Education and Experience**

+ Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred.

+ The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience related to the administration of sports and recreation with a knowledge base of student development.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**

+ Demonstrated passion for sports

+ Advanced knowledge of student training and development strategies.

+ Familiarity with sport governing bodies and/or best practices for collegiate intramurals

+ Knowledge of current risk management practices in recreation settings.
