Since 1955, YTL has been in the business of nation building.
Under Yeoh’s stewardship, the YTL Group grew from a single listed entity in 1985 to a group of five listed companies.
His oldest son, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri (Dr) Francis Yeoh Sock Ping, became the Managing Director of YTL Corp in 1988.
YTL Corp has also had a secondary listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange since 1996 and was the first non-Japanese Asian company to list on the Tokyo exchange.
YTL Group had an annual average compounded growth rate of 55% over the 15 years to 2010.
YTL Corp, together with its listed entities in Malaysia (YTL Power International Berhad, YTL Hospitality REIT and Malayan Cement Berhad (formerly known as Lafarge Malaysia Berhad)), has a combined market capitalisation of approximately RM16.3 billion (USD3.7 billion) as at 30 June 2022.
