Yum! Brands CEO and Leadership

David Gibbs is Chief Executive Officer of Yum! Brands, responsible for leading the Company’s overarching strategies, structure, people development and culture that will drive global growth and sales and profitability at all Yum! franchise businesses worldwide. Yum! functional leaders and global brand division CEOs report to him.

A 30-year veteran of Yum! Brands, David previously served as Yum! Brands’ President and Chief Operating Officer, where he had global operating leadership of the KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell divisions, with the respective leaders reporting to him. Prior to this, he was President and Chief Financial Officer from 2016 to 2019 and was the chief architect of Yum! Brands’ financial, refranchising and restaurant development strategy to transform the company into a capital-light, pure-play franchisor. He also played a lead role in the 2016 spinoff of Yum China Holdings, Inc.

Tracy Skeans was promoted to Chief Operations Officer in February of 2021. Skeans, who has been with the Company for 20 years, had served as Chief Transformation and People Officer since 2016.

Skeans has an impressive tenure of business leadership since joining the Company in 2000, and has expertise driving results at the powerful intersection of talent, culture, finance and strategy. Under her leadership as Chief Transformation and People Officer, in 2020 Yum! integrated The Habit Burger Grill and Heartstyles, a team member leadership development program designed to transform the employee and customer experience, and championed the Company’s Unlocking Opportunity Initiative. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Skeans’ cross-functional and operations leadership was critical in mobilizing Yum! and its brands to protect the health, safety and engagement of corporate and restaurant teams. In 2016, Skeans played a central leadership role in the Yum China spinoff and Yum! Brands’ multi-year transformation strategy to accelerate the Company’s growth by moving to a heavily franchised and more profitable business model - a strategy that was successfully completed in 2019.

Prior to that, she served as President of Pizza Hut International, which at the time was a business of more than 5,900 restaurants across more than 85 countries. In 2013, as Chief People Officer, Pizza Hut, Skeans was one of the key architects of the strategy and structure to separate Yum! Restaurants International into the global brand divisions of KFC and Pizza Hut. Before leading HR, Skeans spent the first half of her career in Finance roles including strategic planning, asset development and accounting at Pizza Hut. In addition to her role at Yum!, Skeans serves on the board of directors for the Brown-Forman Corporation and the Women’s Foodservice Forum.

Scott Catlett is the Chief Legal & Franchise Officer & Corporate Secretary of Yum! Brands, Inc. and reports to the Yum! Brands CEO. In this role, he oversees all of Yum!’s legal and franchise activities globally. Prior to his current role, Catlett served as General Counsel of Yum! Brands, Inc. since July 1, 2018, and before that he served as Vice President & Deputy General Counsel, overseeing all legal aspects of key strategic initiatives, domestic and international financings, domestic restaurant dispositions, investigations, financial disclosure issues, SEC and IRS matters, major litigation and matters relating to the Board of Directors. In addition, Catlett played a lead role in the 2016 spinoff of Yum China Holdings, Inc. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Restaurant Supply Chain Solutions, the largest purchasing cooperative in the quick-service restaurant industry. Prior to joining Yum! in 2007, Catlett practiced law at Frost Brown Todd in Kentucky and Milbank Tweed in New York. He earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and his B.A. from Transylvania University. He is admitted to practice law in both Kentucky and New York.
