The Opportunity

What you'll do

* Designs and implements computer and information networks.
* Performs network modeling, analysis, and planning.
* Researches and recommends network and data communications hardware and software.
* Implement data security systems such as firewalls, virus protection software and data backups.
* Provides technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems network operations.
* Troubleshoots network performance issues.
* Analyzes network traffic and provides capacity planning solutions.
* Monitors and responds to technical control network hardware and software problems.
* Interfaces with vendor service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
* Manages the testing, installation, and support of network communications systems.
* Performs system-level design and configuration of products.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Network Security Management, or a related field.
* Active or ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.
* US Citizenship required.
* IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).
* At least five (5) years of experience in: Network design and implementation. Knowledge of network engineering principles, theories, and concepts and ability to contribute to the development of new and innovative principles and concepts.
* Extensive experience in Linux-based systems.
* Previous experience working in classified and unclassified distributed work environment architectures and systems.
* Programming skills (RedHat, Java).
Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $91,600.00/Yr. - USD $153,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
