Austin Bridge & Road, Inc. - We are currently seeking an experienced **WELDER in Dallas, Texas** This person must be able to join metal parts, such as pipe or metal plates as specified by layout, blueprints, work orders, welding procedures or oral instructions through the application of heat or electric arc-welding equipment. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Uses spot welding gun or hand, electric, or gas welding equipment to weld or tack weld pieces together.
+ Unites pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas and turns valves to release mixture.
+ Reaching expected temperature, size, and color of flame by burning torch and adjusting flow of gas and air.
+ Preheats work pieces for the preparation of welding or curving, using torch.
+ Fills holes or corrects mistakes in lead pieces and makes bulges thin and curves in metal work pieces.
+ Checks the weakness of work pieces and measures work pieces with straightedge or template to ensure the piece meets specifications.
+ Climbs up ladders or works on scaffolds to take apart textures.
+ Gives signal to crane operator to lift large work pieces.
+ Uses thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment to dismount metal assemblies or cut scrap metal.
+ Uses hoist, crane, wire and banding machine, or hand tools to place and protect work pieces.
+ In order to protect the torch chooses place of weld based on type, thickness, area, and expected temperature of metal.
+ Instructs and brings flame or electrodes on or across work piece to straighten, curve, dissolve, or develop metal.
+ Joins pieces together, covers up taut points, and adds metal to develop parts.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required for this Position:

**Experience** - 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
+ Must have tools for the trade and be able to provide a personal tool list.

**Responsibilities:**
1. Oversee and leads the day-to-day field construction activities on assigned jobsite
2. In charge of the overall safety at a jobsite, including the implementation of the safety plans and procedures
3. Reviews record documents, submittals, shop drawings, and schedule to determine the nature and scope of the project, the materials to be utilized, manpower requirements (by craft) for each construction phase, equipment needs, etc.
4. Along with the project manager, plans the physical layout of the jobsite to use effectively all available space; initiates startup activities, which include site security preparations, placement of office trailers, utility hookups, etc.
5. Designates areas for cranes and hoists, building materials storage, parking, etc.
6. Directs field engineers in the initial survey and layout of the jobsite; ensures that all dimensional control lines and elevations are correct and verified by certified third party site surveyors before foundation work begins
7. Plans the daily and weekly activities for each craft, including detailed schedule forecasts, within the scope of the overall construction schedule; provides detailed technical instructions for each foreman to ensure a clear understanding of the work, methods, manpower resources, and expected completion date; works with the project office staff to resolve any ambiguities in plans and drawings before construction begins
8. Along with the project manager, the superintendent establishes procedures for the ordering of self-performed building materials, supplies, and small tools from approved suppliers
9. Inspects all field construction work in progress, including work that is subcontracted, and ensures that uniformly high-quality workmanship is maintained during each construction segment; supervises or appoints staff as appropriate to supervise all activities performed on the jobsite regardless of the day or time of the performance of the work, pointing out deficiencies promptly with responsible parties and following up to ensure that deficiencies are corrected
10. Provides technical guidance and assistance in resolving day-to-day construction problems; investigates alternative work methods and materials to improve efficiency and work quality; works closely with architects, engineers, and consulting firms to resolve problems
11. Assists the project manager in evaluating schedule and cost impacts
12. Assists the project manager in the development of the manpower projection chart; monitors weekly labor costs for accuracy and conformance with established budget and takes corrective action to improve productivity when labor costs exceed expected norms; investigates reasons for delays in the construction schedule, adjusting leadership, crew sizes, equipment, etc. as necessary to ensure timely completion of the project
13. Assists the project manager in the development of the equipment projection chart and monitors equipment use, maintenance, and cost throughout the project
14. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, ordinances and codes relating to construction activities, including company policies and procedures dealing with employment, terminations, compensation, labor/management relations, etc.
15. Manages scheduling of all governmental inspections of all work necessary to obtain a certificate of occupancy
16. Assumes overall responsibility for the health and safety of employees, including designation of first aid areas, emergency treatment facilities, accompanying OSHA inspectors on jobsite visits, correcting observed safety hazards, etc.
17. Establishes and maintains a good working relationship with owners and owner representatives, architects, consulting firms, and other parties with financial interest in the project; attempts to resolve problems at the lowest practical level through direct negotiations with concerned individuals
18. Fosters and promotes the training and development of subordinates through various on-the-job training opportunities, company-sponsored training programs and outside learning opportunities
19. Assumes a leadership role in the career planning and development of project staff, including merit increases, promotions, and decisions to promote hourly staff to salary, etc.; attempts to balance the needs of the individual with the needs of the company
20. Performs a variety of tasks associated with project completion, including close-out punch lists, demobilization, as-built documents, etc.
21. Maintains a detailed and accurate daily report of all activity associated with field construction activities

Our interns are assigned a supervisor who is a professional with both expertise and educational background in the field. Interns can expect a preliminary meeting with their supervisor to discuss the goals, expectations, and desired outcomes of the internship. Employee-owners participating in an internship will be reviewed upon the completion of their internship. This review should be used as a tool to communicate the successes and learning outcomes of the internship. The supervisor will also complete any necessary paperwork that must be provided to the intern's school or university.

**Responsibilities:**
+ Manage the document control system, including RFIs, submittals, correspondence, and meeting notes.
+ Review submittals to ensure proper coordination and adherence to plans and specifications.
+ Assist with startup activities on the project, working closely with the superintendent.
+ Perform tasks associated with project completion, including closeout documentation, completion reports, and collection of final payments.
+ Prepare and submit the monthly pay request for owners and architects, ensuring accurate and timely billings.
+ Distribute proposed changes for pricing, price any self-perform work, verify subcontractor pricing, and evaluate schedule impacts due to scope changes.
+ Assist in establishing and maintaining job cost reporting in line with company policy.
+ Help develop Work Plans and assist the superintendent with their implementation.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, quality reviews, and follow-up for non-compliant work.
+ Ensure a safe work environment through periodic inspections, and ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA, and contractual requirements.
**Qualifications:**
+ A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but may be substituted with equivalent experience.
+ At least 5 years of experience managing DOT projects is strongly preferred.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of management.
+ Excellent time management and organizational skills to effectively prioritize tasks and achieve desired results.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment and meet deadlines consistently.
**Requirements:**
+ Over 5 years of experience in the construction industry, focusing on heavy highway, bridge, and heavy civil projects.
+ Proven project management experience in the construction industry, specifically within heavy highway, bridge, and heavy civil sectors.

Austin Bridge & Road, Inc. - We are currently seeking an experienced **WELDER in Dallas, Texas** This person must be able to join metal parts, such as pipe or metal plates as specified by layout, blueprints, work orders, welding procedures or oral instructions through the application of heat or electric arc-welding equipment. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Uses spot welding gun or hand, electric, or gas welding equipment to weld or tack weld pieces together.
+ Unites pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas and turns valves to release mixture.
+ Reaching expected temperature, size, and color of flame by burning torch and adjusting flow of gas and air.
+ Preheats work pieces for the preparation of welding or curving, using torch.
+ Fills holes or corrects mistakes in lead pieces and makes bulges thin and curves in metal work pieces.
+ Checks the weakness of work pieces and measures work pieces with straightedge or template to ensure the piece meets specifications.
+ Climbs up ladders or works on scaffolds to take apart textures.
+ Gives signal to crane operator to lift large work pieces.
+ Uses thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment to dismount metal assemblies or cut scrap metal.
+ Uses hoist, crane, wire and banding machine, or hand tools to place and protect work pieces.
+ In order to protect the torch chooses place of weld based on type, thickness, area, and expected temperature of metal.
+ Instructs and brings flame or electrodes on or across work piece to straighten, curve, dissolve, or develop metal.
+ Joins pieces together, covers up taut points, and adds metal to develop parts.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required for this Position:
**Education** - no minimum education requirements.
**Experience** - 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
+ Must have tools for the trade and be able to provide a personal tool list.
+ No per diem and no relocation funding.
+ Must pass drug screening.
+ Must pass background check.
