Performs all general required tasks as directed by the Superintendent and General Foreman. Performs all tasks within proper safety guidelines, company guidelines, and as directed by management. Performs assignments according to company schedule and as expected by the customer.
Performs janitorial tasks based on defined scope of work and customer requests. These are performed to published schedules and within explained guidelines.
These tasks often include the following:
* Loading and unloading into buses and company vans.
* Uneven walking surfaces (i.e. Gravel parking lots)
* Climbing/Sweeping/ Mopping of stairs
* Working with industrial strength chemicals
* Bending to empty and re-line trash receptacles
* Lifting and carrying multiple large bags of trash to dumpster
* Lifting boxes of supplies (i.e. Toilet paper, paper towels)
* Sweeping and mopping large areas
* Sweeping with dust mops
* Vacuuming large, carpeted areas
* Lifting mop bucket with water and cleaner inside
* Dusting areas as needed.
* Bending to clean toilets
* Bending to get supplies from cabinet under sinks.
* Cleaning counter tops and tables
* Clean microwaves and coffee bars
* Dusting and cleaning water coolers
* Cleaning windows and glass surfaces
* Cleaning walls and doors.
* Cleaning smoking areas as requested by building managers.
* Lifting items 50 lbs or less
* Moving of chairs and tables
* Pushing/Pulling Janitorial cart
* Exposure to high temperatures and weather
* Cleaning of Laboratory areas (potential exposure to other chemicals)
* Creating weekend schedules and managing a team of janitors
