Instrument Fitters will work with both electrical and piping systems to install the required tubing and instruments for the system to be measured and/or controlled. Responsibilities Will read prints and P&IDs to interpret the work to be completed, the required equipment, and required tools to perform assigned work. Will work with piping systems to install instrumentation in order for the system to work properly, be controlled, and/or monitored. Will work with precision tools to calibrate instrumentation and to adjust installed electrical and piping components. High School diploma or Associates Degree with adequate drafting courses. Minimum 10+ years of piping design experience within the power or energy & chemicals industry. Overall understanding of technical disciplines and project execution. Strong CAD skills with experience in AutoCad, Microstation, or Revit with a willingness to learn the other platforms as required. Execute project objectives working with drafters, designers, engineers and support personnel in the planning, scheduling, quality and execution of projects. Manage the completion of all required deliverables including construction drawings, design studies and bills of materials. Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction estimates, as well as additional documentation related to a project. Assist in estimating project design and drafting manpower requirements. Responsible for the final approval of drawings to ensure compliance with applicable codes and specifications and established discipline standards. Maintain engineering document indices and drafting progress reports on projects. Confirm checking and approval for all vendor shop drawings. Perform all other duties as assigned.
