We are seeking a strategic and Director of Financial Crimes Risk Management leader to oversee our enterprise-wide Financial Crimes Risk Management program. This role serves as the designated BSA/AML/CFT Officer and is responsible for leading efforts to prevent, detect, and respond to financial crimes, including fraud, money laundering, and terrorist financing.
The Director will drive the development and execution of policies, risk assessments, training, and compliance strategies across the organization. This role requires deep expertise in U.S. financial crime regulations (BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, FCPA), strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with regulators, internal stakeholders, and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the enterprise Financial Crimes Unit, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal risk frameworks.
Serve as the designated BSA/AML/CFT Officer, overseeing all aspects of the BSA/AML and Fraud Risk Management programs.
Develop and integrate financial crime prevention strategies across business lines and subsidiaries.
Conduct periodic risk assessments, address emerging threats, and implement training and mitigation strategies.
Interpret and respond to new and evolving laws and regulations; update policies and procedures accordingly.
Act as liaison between corporate and affiliate banks on AML/BSA and fraud matters.
Chair the Financial Crimes Committee and ensure timely reporting to enterprise functions.
Provide subject matter expertise on AML/BSA and fraud risk for enterprise initiatives.
Manage regulatory examinations and audits related to financial crimes.
Oversee team performance, and staffing decisions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Risk Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
12+ years of progressive experience in financial services with a focus on BSA/AML and fraud risk.
Strong understanding of U.S. financial crime regulations (BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, FCPA).
Experience in financial crime investigations and compliance systems.
Proven leadership and strategic planning capabilities.
Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive enterprise-wide initiatives.
Deep knowledge of banking operations and suspicious activity monitoring systems.

Execution: Manage the Bank's Third-Party Risk Management platform, including but not limited to: management of the third party and chain sourcing inventory, review and approval of internal questionnaires, email management, program management, system configuration, user management, development and maintenance of Program policies and procedures.
Collaboration: Assisting Relationship Owners and Third Party's with accessing the Third-Party Risk Management platform, setting expectations on the process, and ultimately facilitating the process to onboard third parties for use.
Training: Educate Bank staff (e.g. Relationship Owners) on the importance of Third-Party Risk Management, the Third-Party Risk Management Lifecycle, and usage / navigation of Third-Party Risk Management Platform. Using Key Performance Indicators (KPls) and Key Risk Indicators (KRls), including Service Level Agreements and risk ratings, proactively monitor performance of the Program, escalating issues to management as appropriate.
Communication: Facilitate regular communication concerning third party performance and risk trends to relevant committees, relationship owners, senior/executive management, and executive sponsors. Develop, establish, and report metrics data around third-party risk management activities on a regular cadence and/or as needed.
Process Improvement: Actively engagement Program constituents (e.g., relationship owners, senior management, and executive sponsors) across the Bank to identify process improvements, develop and design agreed upon improvements, and promote efficiencies within the Program where necessary.
Partnership: Acts as a liaison between internal/external auditors of the Third-Party Risk Management Program, providing requested data, reporting, KRIs/KPIs, and policies, and procedures upon request.

Minimum of five years of experience in financial services, consulting services, information security, risk management, or audit role.
Two years direct experience in Third Party Risk Management, assessment, governance, procurement, or related experience.

Salary Range:

The Opportunity
As a dedicated Risk and Compliance Director, you will provide independent oversight of the Credit Card and Deposits business lines, offering effective challenge and advisory services associated with products and services aligned with core business processes. What you'll do:
Directs staff and initiatives that support risk management programs, to include governance support, risk oversight, risk infrastructure development, analysis of regulatory environment, and adherence to enterprise operational and compliance policies and procedures.
Reviews, communicates, and recommends the development of risk policies and procedures in partnership with senior leaders and regulatory partners to ensure appropriateness and adequacy versus industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $140,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
