    Part-Time Bus Driver JobID: 3611 Transportation/Bus Driver Additional Information: Show/Hide The Bus Driver will provide safe and efficient transportation for students to and from school. Responsibilities: * Drivers must fuel and check the oil in their own buses and keep them clean inside on a daily basis. This is also expected when using a spare bus. Buses are to be cleaned before and after going on a field trip. * Buses must be warmed up at least ten minutes, and no longer than 15 minutes, prior to driving. * Pre-trip your bus at the beginning of each run. Pre-trip reports must be completed and filed online using the tablets provided. * Maintain order and discipline on the bus. Must have the ability to tolerate noise and distractions made by student passengers. The driver must be able to discipline firmly, but fairly, within school guidelines. * Confirm that all passengers are students or designated trip supervisors as all other passengers are prohibited due to state law and insurance regulations. * Post-trip your bus after each run checking for items left on the bus, damage to the bus and windows must be closed. * ENSURE ALL PASSENGERS ARE OFF THE BUS at the end of the day. * Use bus radios in a proper manner for school business only. * Each driver will prepare, maintain and abide by all records required by law or ZPS Board Policy. * Must be able to evacuate students in case of emergency. This procedure is required three times per year. * Demonstrate to the Director of Transportation or his designee the ability to open the emergency door, to exit and to enter through the emergency door. * Report all staff and student injuries to the Transportation office on the same day in which they occur and follow-up with a written report. * A written report must be submitted to the Transportation office or to the mechanics regarding needed repairs and/or safety hazards on equipment and property. * A written report must be submitted to the Transportation office immediately regarding any accident in which you are involved in. * Attend mandatory meetings called by the Director of Transportation during the school year. These meetings will be paid according to the bus driver's regular pay. As an instructional leader, advocate for and ensure that access to educational programming is provided to all students with disabilities. Ensure positive academic and behavioral outcomes for all Special Education students. Provide administrative support for the implementation of appropriate Special Education programs and services in assigned buildings. Serve as immediate supervisor for assigned itinerant staff and conduct non-tenure performance evaluations. Provide specific program supervision for assigned Special Education categorical programs. Conduct ongoing monitoring of Special Education programs and services to ensure compliance with IDEA and Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education. Collaborate with the Student Support Services team to support programming for students with disabilities from birth - 26 years of age. Maintain regular contact with and provide consultation to building principals concerning the on-site management of Special Education programs and services. Make recommendations regarding staffing needs to the Director of Student Support Services.
