The IT team supports ERP Services, Workplace services, Service-Desk and On-Prem DC Services across the organization aligned with the mission to build a safe & secure internet. As a Software (Application) Engineer in the newly formed Workplace technology team, you'll help design, build, and maintain the systems and automations that power Mozilla's workplace technologies - from collaboration and AI productivity tools to identity and access workflows. Note: You don't need to meet every listed qualification to be considered - we value diverse experiences and learning potential.
What you'll do:
Design, build, and maintain scripts, APIs, and workflow automations that power key workplace systems - collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Atlassian) and identity platforms (Okta).
Develop lightweight services or integrations that connect collaboration, GenAI-tools (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) and internal systems, enabling agentic flows (e.g., virtual assistants, workflow agents) that reduce manual work and improve user experience.
Implement monitoring, logging and observability for automation and AI workflows; troubleshoot issues and uncover opportunities for reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Contribute to the evolution of secure onboarding, off-boarding, and mover workflows across access, permissions and SaaS tools - with automation and safe agentic handoffs where appropriate.
Collaborate with IT, Security, and People teams to ensure identity, data, and compliance standards (SSO, DLP, classification) are deeply embedded through automation and script-driven guardrails.
Participate in pilot projects for new AI and productivity capabilities: integrate LLMs & agents, track usage/adoption metrics, build flows that assist users (e.g., knowledge-agent, document summarizer).
Contribute to the code-review process, documentation of shared libraries for workflows/agents, and build a library of integration templates for reuse across the team.
Partner with senior engineers to modernize workplace systems through scalable architecture, API-first design, and intelligent agentic workflows.
What you'll bring:
4-6 years of experience in software engineering, systems integration or workplace technology development, with a focus on automation or scripting.
Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages (Java, Go, Python, JavaScript/Apps Script, Bash, PowerShell) and comfortable with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and integration frameworks.
Familiarity with SaaS platforms (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Atlassian) and interest in agentic/AI workflows (LLMs, agents, prompt pipelines).

Remote job
Why Mozilla?
Mozilla Corporation is the non-profit-backed technology company that has shaped the internet for the better over the last 25 years. We make pioneering brands like Firefox, the privacy-minded web browser. Now, with more than 225 million people around the world using our products each month, we're shaping the next 25 years of technology and helping to reclaim an internet built for people, not companies. Our work focuses on diverse areas including AI, social media, security and more. And we're doing this while never losing our focus on our core mission - to make the internet better for people.
The Mozilla Corporation is wholly owned by the non-profit 501(c) Mozilla Foundation. This means we aren't beholden to any shareholders - only to our mission. Along with thousands of volunteer contributors and collaborators all over the world, Mozillians design, build and distribute open-source software that enables people to enjoy the internet on their terms.
About this team and role:
We are looking for a strategic, authentic, and experienced Community Engagement Manager to lead our efforts across Reddit.
You'll be Mozilla's voice in influential subreddits, driving organic engagement through thoughtful participation, not brand pushing. You'll develop and own an organic Reddit strategy, spot trends early and make engagement recommendations, navigate moderation ecosystems with care, track and report performance, build relationships with key Redditors and moderators, and create content that resonates with communities passionate about technology, privacy, and the open web.
This is a great opportunity to shape and lead Mozilla's Reddit engagement strategy, working cross-functionally to spark meaningful conversations and build stronger connections with our users.
You're the right person if:
You have your finger on the pulse of online conversations, especially in tech spaces, and you know when to listen, when to jump in, and how to do it with empathy and authenticity. You're fluent in Reddit culture, comfortable navigating nuance, and write in a way that feels human. You've worked across teams to problem-solve responses and share insights, and you bring sound judgment to fast moving or sensitive moments. You're naturally curious, quick to learn new platforms, and genuinely enjoy engaging with communities where trust and transparency matter. You're motivated by the opportunity to help grow and nurture a thoughtful, engaged community by serving as a critical liaison between our users and the product teams building for them.
What you'll bring:
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in product communications, developer relations, community strategy, or tech influencer marketing.
Proven ability to participate authentically and effectively on Reddit and other tech-native platforms (e.g., Hacker News, Discord, X).
Deep understanding of how influence flows through tech communities, and how to meet those communities with the right tone and timing.
Skilled at translating product and technical language into community-friendly narratives that resonate across forums and social spaces.
Direct experience engaging with developers, open-source contributors, or privacy-minded user communities.
Strong writer who can craft engaging Reddit posts and comments in Mozilla's voice, while adapting to the unique tone and norms of each subreddit community
Proficiency with Reddit analytics, UTM tagging, and other performance-tracking tools to assess engagement and impact.
Map Reddit activity back to KPIs like traffic, leads, or brand awareness.
Comfortable operating autonomously while also collaborating across functions-especially with PR, Product, Legal, Marketing, and Brand teams.
Familiar with moderation systems, content guidelines, and reputation management in online forums and communities.
What you'll get:
Generous performance-based bonus plans to all eligible employees - we share in our success as one team
Rich medical, dental, and vision coverage
Generous retirement contributions with 100% immediate vesting (regardless of whether you contribute)
Quarterly all-company wellness days where everyone takes a pause together
Country specific holidays plus a day off for your birthday
One-time home office stipend
Annual professional development budget
Quarterly well-being stipend
Considerable paid parental leave
Employee referral bonus program
Other benefits (life/AD&D, disability, EAP, etc. - varies by country)

What You Bring:
15+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles, including 4+ years in leadership.
Expertise in multi-cloud environments and automation (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, Kubernetes).
Proven ability to balance hands-on engineering with team leadership and strategic planning.
Strong understanding of cloud security, data protection, and reliability best practices.
Ability to plan and manage budgets along with skill in cloud cost stewardship.
Experience working with privacy and compliance expectations for cloud hosted systems.
Excellent communicator comfortable working across distributed global teams.
Passion for open-source principles and collaborative problem-solving.
Bonus Points for:
Previous experience maintaining an open-source project, or regular participation in an open-source community.
Work Environment:
You'll work with our passionate staff and open-source community members from all over the globe to support the mission and objectives of MZLA Technologies Corporation.
