Under the direction of the Complex Manager, the shipping and receiving coordinator prepares documentation, maintains records, and coordinates logistics for product shipment. The Chemical Packaging Plant is a fast-paced environment and high-volume operation, responsible for manufacturing cleaning products for BISSELL. There are multiple packaging lines, which run 24 hours a day, up to 6 days a week. The standard work shift for a technician is 8 hours per day. As a Warehouse Technician I, you will be part of a collaborative team with opportunities for career advancement by leveraging the BISSELL Skill System that allows for a variety of promotional paths. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop by supporting liquid filling, packaging, and blowmolding operations. The Shipping Operator primarily loads trucks, rail cars and pallets to get customer orders delivered in a timely manner. This position also assists with daily inspection of the cranes and other equipment used and identifies customer's plate using the inventory system. Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Works overtime when needed. Transport material and other items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department. Mark materials with identifying information and opens bales, crates, and other containers. Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed and weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards. Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers and operates shipping labeling equipment and UPS machine. Prepares parcels for mailing. Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications and completes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS Wear safety eye glasses and steel-toed shoes. Follow proper lifting techniques. Participate in hazard communication training. Understand emergency procedures.
