What You Will Be Doing
Essential Functions
Physically transfers material from one process to another. Picks material from racks, trays and shelves, and prepares them for assembly, sub-assembly, spare part orders or other subsequent processes. Performs a variety of organizational functions such as counting, weighing packaging etc. according to SOP to prepare materials for subsequent processes.
Coordinates and prioritizes materials and item movements from receiving and product drop off areas, sorts and stores on racks, trays and shelves in a predetermined order, i.e. stocking parts and identifies potential issues and helps provide corrective actions.
Develops and maintains operating procedures, work instructions and training plans for the stock room.
Maintains accurate inventory quantity and traceability on inventory items by using site ERP System.
Counts inventory for cycle counting purposes, open/closes cycle count batches and trouble shoots discrepancies and helps provide corrective actions.
Other Functions
Identifies and records non-conformance and stock discrepancies. Records for dispositioning and traceability and contributes to corrective actions.
Understands tool and gage management systems as applicable per location.
May prepare domestic and international shipments.
May be required to be certified and operate powered material handling equipment (e.g. forklift truck, motorized pallet handler, crane)
May set up or change stockroom parameters for local site ERP system.

Expert knowledge of ERP systems (WISE/SAP).

MATERIAL HANDLER
Drives gasoline-, liquefied gas-, or electric-powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices (such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel-hook, fork-grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch), and operates overhead and jib cranes to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in the shop. Performs any combination of the following tasks to assist in machine shop activities.
Reports to: Production Control Supervisor
Personnel: Not applicable.
Duties:
Move levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hook tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transport load to designated area.
Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device.
Deliver metal parts or stock to designated work areas for machining, using electric pallet mover, hoist, or overhead crane.
Lift metal part or stock onto machine, manually or using hoist, and secure it on machine table, in chuck, or fixture, using wrenches, to assist in setting up machine.
May inventory materials on work floor, and supplies workers with materials as needed.
May weigh materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
Add coolant to reservoirs of machines and lubricate machine parts and ways, using grease gun and oilcan.
Reclaim cutting and lubricating oils from machines by pumping oil from machine reservoir into barrel, dumping oil from barrel into centrifugal separator that removes metal chips and dirt from oil, and drain clean oil from separator into containers.
Remove metal chips and shavings from surfaces of machines, using rag or air hose, and wipe surfaces of machines with rag to remove excess oil.
Clean around work areas, using broom and shovel.
May separate metal shavings, chips, and scrap materials from trash and places them in bins for resale.
Remove burrs or excess metal from machined parts, using files, sandpaper, emery cloth, or grinding machine.
Communicate with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
Assist receiving and inspection in the timely and efficient movement of materials. Using tow motor and/or material handling equipment, load and unload company and vendor trucks. In the case of raw material plate or unique customer supplied items, employ knowledge of correct material handling equipment and procedures. Store materials in designated locations. Seek assistance in handling large and/or difficult items.
Assist stores, burnout and saw room areas in the movement of routed items, scrap or items designated for off-site storage. Move items at the direction of the supervisor or as requested by various work centers. Ensure that routed items contain a bar code router and that the current operation has been signed off in black ink.
Responsible for the following areas: stores aisle, receiving dock and saw room. Strive daily to keep these areas clear of unauthorized equipment, such as spreader bars, mark lifts/wildcats, welders, tow motors, etc. Disposal of skids and trash is the primary responsibility of maintenance, although, the material handler should assist as needed.
Required to visually inspect material handling equipment for mechanical problems prior to each application. Notify supervisor if tow motor maintenance work orders are needed.
Conform to all company safety policies.
As the primary responsibilities listed above are completed, or at supervisor's direction, the material handler becomes available to assist the work centers with their material handling needs.
Communicate with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
Job Qualification Requirements:

The Material Handler Lead plays a key role in overseeing material flow and supporting daily operations across both production and warehouse environments. This position leads a team of material handlers while ensuring accurate inventory movement, efficient shipping and receiving activities, and safe forklift operation. The Lead will be responsible for moving and stocking materials, loading and unloading trucks, scheduling outgoing orders, and maintaining accuracy through tools such as Excel and QuiltTracker. This role also includes learning to operate and program the packaging machine, collecting labor and burden data on work orders, and ensuring timely movement of materials between our two buildings. The schedule is 6:00am-2:30pm, with overtime occasionally required, and reliable transportation is required.
What You'll Do
Lead and support a team in the warehouse and production areas.
Ensure continuous material supply to production lines and cleaning teams.
Safely operate forklifts to move materials, load/unload trucks, and transport items between buildings.
Maintain inventory organization of finished goods, leased goods, and raw materials.
Assist with cycle counting, stock audits, and serial number tracking (ICRs, RAM items, lease quilts).
Perform shipping and handling tasks, including scheduling outgoing orders.
Operate and learn to program the packaging/Qliner machine.
Use mobile QR-scanning tools (QuiltTracker) to track outgoing orders.
Collect labor and burden data on work orders.
Use Excel and company systems to update inventory and documentation.
Train new team members and ensure standard operating procedures are followed.
Maintain safety, cleanliness, and a well-organized workspace.
What We're Looking For
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 1 year of warehouse or production experience, including 1 year in a lead role.
Forklift certification required.
Experience moving materials, stocking inventory, and loading/unloading trucks.
Shipping and handling experience, including order scheduling.
Basic computer skills-including Microsoft Excel.
Ability to learn and operate the packaging/Qliner machine.
Ability to use mobile apps (QR code scanning).
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable transportation required (role supports two buildings).
Must be available for overtime.
The base pay range for this role is $17.00/hr to $20.00/hr. The final compensation offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and location. Description of Primary Accountability or Responsibilities:
Operates company owned or leased bulk or packaged trucks over 20 tons to facilitate shipping and receiving operations. Perform tasks safely and in a manner consistent with Nexeo Plastics procedures. Communicates effectively to internal team members and external customers. Must be medically certified to operate a commercial motor vehicle per 49 CFR 390.5, except as provided in 391.67. Must be able to safely work with load securing devices.
Position Responsibilities
* Operate company owned and leased trucks over 20 tons to facilitate shipping and receiving operations of bulk or packaged goods.
* Perform required pre-trip, during and post-trip vehicle inspections and provide required reports.
* Monitor hours of service accurately.
* Provide outstanding customer service during the delivery and pick up operations.
* Assist customers with questions or problems attend to customer needs.
* Ensure delivered goods correspond to products identified on the bill of lading.
* Maintain all required certifications required by the D.O.T, OSHA and company safety programs.
* Maintain and protect all company property entrusted to you in excellent condition.
* During loading and unloading process check weights of shipment and monitor distribution weight to legal road limits.
* Ensures material is properly and safely loaded and unloaded from vehicle for either bulk or packaged delivery.
* Check material for damage and quantity discrepancies.
* Engage appropriate Nexeo Plastics team member if any discrepancies exist.
* Review paperwork to ensure transport of material is authorized and in compliance.
* Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.
* Attend and participate in training meetings.
* Perform duties and tasks in a manner consistent with the business responsibilities of a Nexeo Plastics employee.
* Operate forklift to pick material, store and stage material as needed.
* Bulk off load material from either bulk tank trucks or rail cars using a forklift or a pallet jack or by moving and connecting 50 lb. hoses between the storage vehicle and piping system in load rack as needed.
Education:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Possess the proper CDL with all applicable tanker endorsements and clean driving record
Experience:
* Experience loading and unloading shipments for delivery
* Forklift experience
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with clients in a professional manner
Skills:
* Strength: Must be able to lift, pull or push 55 lbs. Must be able to sit and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of time. (e.g., bagged material on pallet jack).
* Climbing or Balancing: Must frequently be able to ascend and descend ladder to vent bulk tanker, or access bulk loading area. Walking / Running / Stooping / Kneeling / Crouching / Crawling. Must frequently be able to kneel or crouch to inspect vehicle.

Skills: Technical Qualifications/Experience
* A minimum of one year experience in a similar position is preferred;
* Experience with RF devices is a plus;

Position Responsibilities
· Operate company owned and leased trucks over 20 tons to facilitate shipping and receiving operations of bulk or

· Perform required pre-trip, during and post-trip vehicle inspections and provide required reports.
· Monitor hours of service accurately.
· Provide outstanding customer service during the delivery and pick up operations.
· Assist customers with questions or problems attend to customer needs.
· Ensure delivered goods correspond to products identified on the bill of lading.
· Maintain all required certifications required by the D.O.T, OSHA and company safety programs.
