Salary Range: $78,000 - $95,000 The salary listed above is a range. The offered range complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Our Culture of Care - Zinpro Position Summary Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor is a key contributor to Zinpro's success by supervising and executing the daily activities required to meet all expectations of safety, environmental, quality and production for the manufacturing plant. Work will center around planning, assigning, directing and executing work, appraising performance, promoting compliance, investigating complaints, resolving problems, and facilitating communication. Success in this position requires the ability to work with complex machinery and perform physically demanding work while ensuring the safety of self and others. This role is based in a Zinpro manufacturing plant. Essential Functions Directs, plans, and assigns the specific tasks operators execute to meet the expected plan communicated from management. As required, fills in and executes tasks needed to meet daily plans. Responsible for all aspects of each production process. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of production documents and ensures confirmation in the system for the activities completed each day Supports and identifies needs to accomplish each requirement and execute workflow (report, work order, proposals, etc.) as required Owns the performance of production metrics and execution of the training program for the site Ensures accurate raw material and supply cycle counts are provided for planning Collaborates with Production Leads, Scheduling, and Operations Manager on weekly production plans and raw materials Ensures compliance standards are enforced by operators by interpreting and representing company policies to workers Leads first investigation within 24 hours for every issue that arises from execution of the daily workflow Supports, recommends, and enforces measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product Oversees execution of work orders and process orders to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality standards are met Investigates gaps from expected results and initiates improvement activities with the team or recommends activities to Operations Manager for approval Supports and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department or staff Ensures weekly and monthly operator PM's are assigned and completed Recommends and schedules appropriate planned maintenance break in's with Maintenance and Operations Manager Leads annual Operator performance reviews and mid-year check in's with Operations Manager Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 5 years' experience in a production environment or warehouse operation Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting Basic computer skills (PC) and basic working knowledge of MS Word and Excel Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Preferred: Post-secondary education Experience in a related production environment or industry such as chemical, feed, paper, ethanol, or dairy manufacturing Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance-related tasks Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or inventory management systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Experience supporting ISO 9000 Quality Systems, GMP's, or Lean Manufacturing methods Work Environment and Physical Requirements The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position is responsible for ensuring the production of safe, high-quality food products in compliance with regulatory, customer, and company standards. This role leads the facility's food safety and quality programs, oversees compliance with HACCP, FSMA, and GFSI requirements, and provides leadership to QA and sanitation teams to maintain continuous improvement in quality systems and plant hygiene. Essential Functions Quality Assurance & Compliance Manage and maintain the plant's Quality Management System (QMS) to meet internal, customer, and third-party audit requirements. Oversee daily QA operations including product testing, process verification, and documentation review. Lead and coordinate internal, customer, and regulatory audits (FDA, USDA, State, GFSI). Investigate non-conformances, implement root cause analysis, and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). Ensure compliance with labeling, allergen control, and traceability requirements. Maintain accurate and complete quality and production records in compliance with regulatory standards. Food Safety & HACCP Serve as the plant's PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual). Oversee implementation, verification, and validation of food safety programs including HACCP, FSMA Preventive Controls, environmental monitoring, and supplier verification. Lead the Food Safety Team and ensure effective communication of food safety objectives across departments. Monitor trends in microbiological results, environmental swabs, and product testing to proactively identify risks. Leadership & Training Develop and deliver employee training on GMPs, food safety, allergen control, sanitation, and quality awareness. Promote a culture of food safety and continuous improvement throughout the facility. Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams to ensure alignment with quality objectives. Continuous Improvement Analyze process data to identify opportunities for quality improvement and waste reduction. Support implementation of initiatives related to product quality and safety. The Six Sigma Lean Black Belt will continually train our current and future leaders to solve problems using a methodical, data-driven methodology. Job Description The controls engineer will lead and implement controls projects across Zinpro's Shell Rock manufacturing plant. The role will include systems design support for new production areas, integration of upgraded equipment in existing systems, and projects targeting obsolete equipment. The controls engineer will work closely with plant leaders and assist in troubleshooting issues with existing systems when needed. This hybrid role requires on-site presence at the plant one week each month. Essential Functions Creating and interpreting wiring diagrams used in an Industrial Automation and Control System (IACS). Wiring and troubleshooting electrical systems containing fuses, pushbuttons, selector switches, relays, and other components. Programming and operating small- and medium-scope Programmable Logic Controllers, and supporting projects associated with those controllers. Troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controller projects. Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Process Engineer is a key contributor to Zinpro's success support business and operational objectives by leading continuous improvement initiatives throughout all Zinpro manufacturing facilities; including the assessment, development and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment and operating strategy. Work will center around process improvement, equipment selection, operating strategy, commissioning new equipment, and other activities related to successful and world class operation of the plant. Success in this position requires strong analytical and project management skills, including the ability to lead and execute process improvement activities of varying complexity in a chemical manufacturing environment. This role is based at Zinpro's manufacturing plant in Garner, Iowa. Essential Functions Leads projects and activities in the areas of process improvement, equipment selection, operating strategy, commissioning new equipment, and other activities related to successful and world class operation of the plant Leads the implementation of process improvement programs through cross-functional project management using a data-driven approach to problem solving and decision making Provides day-to-day technical support to Plant Operators and Maintenance Technicians, including development and execution of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and technical assistance to operations for problem solving, optimization and training Performs technical evaluations as needed to help ensure and confirm the success of new installations and modifications Assists in the selection, development, monitoring and continuous improvement of defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and presents this information visually and verbally Produces monthly production efficiency reports for i.e. energy cost/kg, downtime, etc. Supports Environmental Health and Safety Compliance, cGMP and Food Safety Compliance Collaborates with Lab personnel to improve testing consistency as it relates to process expectations Creates technical presentations including value-based analysis that justify process capital and system improvements Works across all Zinpro plants to align local efforts and create best practices for Zinpro Operations Manages audits of Operational data to identify issues with consistency and adherence to established process standards Assists with the implementation of ISO and other regulatory requirements Assists with production scheduling, operator shift schedules and the training of plant personnel as needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering Minimum 3 years' relevant experience working in a production environment or warehouse operation Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) Preferred: Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical Engineering Travel Requirements This position will work primarily at their home manufacturing plant facility and is expected to engage in company-sponsored travel approximately 10-15% of the time. Shift: 2nd Shift Plant Operator. 2:00pm - 10:30pm - Sunday - Thursday. The plant operator is expected to work a 40-hour work week and occasional overtime.
