The Services Operations Senior Manager is responsible for managing deliverables for the services team, including coordinating parts and labor dispatches, identifying opportunities, new product requirements, materials planning, significant customer issues and staying engaged in customer development. The Services Operations Senior Manager will work with multiple senior-level hardware engineers & managers, and other engineering teams to define, scope, and implement projects into a customer environment. The role requires heavy tactical coordination, working across technical, production, supply chain, and logistics through to customer delivery, while staying aligned with high level strategy.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Collection of business and systems requirements from internal and external customers, translating those requirements into functional, technical and resource deliverables, leading consensus amongst engineering, technical, supply chain, and customer-facing teams with competing priorities and limited resources.
Driving project schedules from Pre-Sales to deployment to support with specific attention to detail to customer needs / expectations, and clearly communicating project status to all key stakeholders.
Help manage day-to-day relationship with customer (work closely with Services/ Sales/Engineering to stay on top of the latest messaging and expectations).
Understand current and future services requirements.
Clarify and communicate products and services needed by the customer and align product development with requirements through CTO/Engineering.
Manage deliverables to customer timelines (message key milestones and schedules internally and externally).
Help coordinate and communicate Costing for products and services.
Document customer requirements and schedule.
Align builds and deployment schedules.
Align transportation and deployment.
Arrange and evaluate site assessments.
Coordinate, Deliver and deploy.
Coordinate and/or Manage on-site resources and service parts as required/defined by customers.
Manage and coordinate resolution of customer issues by ensuring the right functional experts are engaged and helping track/communicate progress if necessary.
Manage delivery to customers: Starts with PO, includes integration, deployment, support and completes on End of Life of the product.
Anticipate bottlenecks and provide escalation management.
Create and validate periodic internal and external reports.
Anticipate and make tradeoffs, balancing the business needs versus technical constraints.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor's degree with accomplishments/experience that demonstrate technical cognizance
Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline a plus.
7+ years of relevant work experience managing Data Center Environments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications especially Word, Outlook and Excel and ERP systems
Good cross function communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - ability to manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously
Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and schedule tasks for the most efficient use of time
Server hardware deployment and IT Services experience a plus.
Prior experience as a program manager or project manager for hardware development.
Experience with MS Project and/or other project/program management methodologies.
Experience building processes, project management, and release schedules.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Travel domestic and International expected 30%
