To align with our Head and Neck Disease Group (DG) priority of bringing cutting edge discoveries to our patients through advanced clinical trials, we are seeking a translational scientist with expertise in biomarkers of Head and Neck cancer/pre-cancer, immuno-oncology, cellular engineering in head and neck cancer, genetics, virology, and/or cancer vaccine development. We seek to identify an early to mid-career investigator who would collaborate with our DG multi-disciplinary team, would be able to serve as a mentor to promote junior faculty development and grant writing, and would provide much needed insight and internal know how to advance the science of head and neck cancer at Mayo Clinic. Sometimes the floor will be slippery or the working environment will seem humid. Physical Demands The employee is required to perform all skills required for Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED certifications. While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; feel; reach with arms and hands. Employee must be able to talk, taste, smell, and see (both near and far). Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. Lifeguards must be able to remain alert and focused on all pool-related activities, remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, as well as hear and distinguish distress signals. Required abilities include the ability to continuously scan all areas of the pool with clear vision, perform strenuous physical tasks necessary for a water rescue, and communicate verbally by projecting one's voice across distance in normal and loud situations. Travel Travel is not required for this position. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a part time or full-time position. The pool is open seven days a week and hours will depend on the requirements of the aquatics department. Required Qualifications/Experience Minimum age of 16 Certifications: CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid, and Oxygen (preferred) Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.
