YOUR IMPACT
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Monitor and evaluate child-directed advertising online, on TV, in print and all other media, to assess compliance with CARU's guidelines.

· Correspond, consult with, and conduct in-person, virtual and phone meetings with company representatives from major advertisers, in-house and outside counsel, and scientific and marketing experts to review and critique their legal arguments, jurisdictional issues and assess and evaluate any supporting evidence.
· Prepare substantive presentations on relevant topics in the children's industry for CARU's online and in-person events and non-CARU events. Participate in the selection of topics, key-note speakers and other CARU event agenda items. Seek out speaking engagements for CARU.
· Review legal journals, trade publications and periodicals; attend seminars and conferences to keep abreast of emerging trends, new technology and recent developments in the law. Keep up on trends in child-directed marketing and academic literature.

Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Licensed (or eligible for admission) to practice law in Wisconsin.

Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $140,000 - $180,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Essential Job Functions
Work as internal counsel in conjunction with claims to strategize, implement, and manage representation of CURE in PIP and Coverage litigation cases in both Forthright and the Superior Court, from inception to conclusion, by trial or dispositive hearing
Evaluating and providing detailed analysis of assigned cases in accordance with CURE's staff counsel policies and procedures, including trial and expense control
Collaborate with CURE's Claims Department to establish, communicate, and implement team litigation objectives and obtain prompt resolution of claims
Preparing and responding to arbitration demands and/or pleadings and discovery
Preparing and handling arbitration submissions and Rule 35 applications for dismissal in Forthright matters
Planning, taking, and defending Examinations Under Oath (EUO) and depositions
Attending Forthright arbitrations, motion hearings, arbitration hearings, and all other pre-trial matters
Ability to prepare for and try cases
Ability to draft and argue post-arbitration/trial motions and appeals in both Forthright and the Superior Court
Negotiating high-level settlement agreements
Experience/Qualifications
JD required from an ABA-accredited law school
Admitted to practice, and in good standing, with NJ State Bar
PA and/or NY admission preferred; Michigan, a plus
At least 2 years PIP and Coverage experience in both Forthright and the Superior Court
Experience independently managing a caseload of PIP and Coverage matters, working cases from beginning to end.
Excellent research, writing, and presentation communication skills
Ability to think critically, analyze complex information, and problem solve with expedience
Highly collaborative working style with demonstrated commitments to meeting individual and team goals
Must be adaptable and computer savvy with an ability to navigate multiple system
