Find a Job You Really Want In
Birmingham, AL — the Magic City. This most populous city in the AL is named after the second most populous city in the UK, is guarded by Vulcan, has a “Lakeview District” without a lake to view and the world’s largest motorcycle museum — but you probably knew all of that.
And perhaps more importantly than its universities’ biomedical breakthroughs and its storied civil rights history, Birminghamians can lay claim to another honor — four of this great nation’s American Idols and ten of its greatest accounting firms to work for call it home.
Birmingham is home to a thriving banking industry and is currently the tenth largest banking center in the country — and with a Salary.com survey ranking it as second in the nation for building personal net worth, that explains why there are a respectable number of accounting firms in the area.
It’s on an economic boom, with new companies springing up across the Birmingham area all the time, and this begs an important question for accounting job searchers: which companies are the best for employees to work for?
Well, we were curious too — so, using company scores from websites that aggregate reviews like GlassDoor and Indeed as a baseline, we created our own list of some of the best accounting companies to work for that were based within a 30-mile commute of Birmingham, AL.
The full list can be found farther down, but first, here’s a quick top ten.
