These Are The 100 Companies In Pittsburgh Hiring The Most

Pittsburgh’s economy is on the rise, with tech innovation and academic research driving much of this new growth.

As a tech company ourselves trying to help recent grads find the right job, we decided to take a deep dive into the Pittsburgh hiring landscape. What companies in Pittsburgh are hiring some of the grads from Carnegie Mellon and the University of Pittsburgh?

We were curious — so, using job listings found on our own website, we put together of a list of 100 companies in the Pittsburgh area that are hiring the most people right now.

The full list can be found further down, but first, here’s a quick top ten.

How We Did It

We looked through job listings posted on our own website in the last 30 days for companies with the highest number of “unique” job listings — that is, listings where the posted jobs are distinct from one another.

Any ties after this point were broken by the total number of job listings for each company. For example, if two companies are hiring for 10 positions, but one company has 100 job listings compared to the other company’s 80 listings, that breaks the tie.

The following list was last updated during the week of October 24, 2017.

1. University of Pittsburgh

Who They Are: A state research university with a heavy focus on technology and biomedical research, the University of Pittsburgh was originally founded in 1787.
Why You Should Care: The University of Pittsburgh has long been a center of supporting innovation in science and technology.
