Nature of Work: This is routine cleaning and custodial work in an assigned City building or area. The work involves cleaning and maintaining floors and carpets, cleaning walls, woodwork, windows, glass, venetian blinds, water fountains, and restroom fixtures, and dusting and polishing items that require such maintenance. The work also involves maintaining a facility's grounds, picking up debris and spreading salt on sidewalks. Position Overview

This position works a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including day and night shifts.
Training and Licensing
New operators will work closely with the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor and experienced staff during an initial training period, with continued on-the-job training as they transition to their assigned shift.
A Grade 4 Water Operator License issued by the State of Nebraska is required for this position. Applicants who do not currently hold a Grade 4 license may be considered, provided they are able to obtain the license within six months of hire or as otherwise negotiated with the City.

General Medical Requirements: As determined by OPM the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. * Recruitment Incentive: Applicants may be eligible for a $40,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements. The first installment of $15,000 will be paid following successful completion of Secret Service Criminal Investigator training. Work Environment: The environment involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations including physical attack or attack with deadly weapons.
Both indoor and outdoor assignments are involved with frequent prolonged exposure to inclement weather.
The officer may be required to work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays with frequently rotating shifts.
