POSITION PURPOSE Provide direct and general supervision to security staff in order to ensure effective and efficient security operations on assigned shift. Assist Director of Security in developing and implementing department management plans. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all inclusive for this position.) 1.Oversee scheduling, training, development, motivation and supervision of security team members. Recommend and approve wage increases, promotions, evaluation ratings and other employment actions. 2.Maintain, through supervision and direct observation, a continuous awareness of all property activity. Respond appropriately to any incidents and or service needs. 3.Assist with the development and implementation of department management plans including budgets, labor schedules and systems of accountability. 4.Assist with the development and implementation of policies, procedures and rules including operations manuals, to promote compliance with company and regulatory guidelines. 5.Ensure proper arrest procedures and detainment techniques are carried out in accordance with civil or company laws or procedures; assists various local, state, and federal authorities in various activities and investigations to ensure that procedures and laws are observed. 6.Maintain all current information on cheats, thieves, vagrants, etc. to ensure the protection of company assets, guest, and team members; develops and maintains communications with law enforcement agencies and security personnel of other casinos to relay security information. 7.Resolve guest complaints and ensures that all areas of guest service are adhered to. 8.Provide support to departmental management in the event of troublesome terminations, thefts, investigations, and procedures as requested. 9.Handle all occupational injury reports as needed, assuring that Horseshoe St. Louis maintains its procedures and liability issues. 10.Oversee training classes on various topics such as CPR, Fire Fighting & Response, First-Aid, and general security procedures to ensure the security and protection of assets, patrons/guests and team members. 11.Ensure that all proper procedures for Games Department are correctly implemented and maintained, i.e., fills, credits, transfers, pit boxes, drops, etc. 12.Promote a safe and secure working environment. 13.Perform other duties as assigned by management. JOB QUALIFICATIONS * Must be at least 21 years of age * Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid security license * Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license * Must be able to maintain a valid Driver's License * Demonstrated supervisory experience in security operations * Basic knowledge of civil and criminal laws These skills are typically acquired through a high school education or equivalent and three years progressive experience in security operations, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience which demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position.
