About the Role
The Auto Body Technician is responsible for repairing damaged vehicle body parts in accordance with company specifications, processes, and time standards. You ll play a critical role in restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition while ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
What You ll Do
Examine and evaluate damaged vehicles to plan efficient repairs according to established standards.
Communicate with management and team members on repair status throughout all phases.
Alert management to any issues that may prevent quality work or delay completion.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order; operate safely at all times.
Keep work area organized, clean, and free of safety hazards.
Wear and maintain all required PPE, including eye protection.
Assist other team members in repairs and prep work, as needed.
Stay up to date and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations affecting body shop operations (e.g., hazardous waste disposal).
What We re Looking For
Certified or non-certified techs all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply
Solid knowledge of collision repair processes, techniques, and materials
Minimum 1 3 years of experience in the collision repair industry
Strong knowledge of vehicle structure and the ability to remove and replace damaged components
Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and over 70 lbs occasionally
Agility and coordination to work in various positions, including climbing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Comfortable in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment with strong attention to detail

What You'll Do
Examines and inspects vehicle integrity, including panels, wheels, previous repair work, etc.
Records noted imperfections and/or damage and reviews with supervisor, developing an action plan for vehicle repair.
Inspecting finished body panels
Repairing and/or replacing damaged panels or other body components as directed.
Removing and cleaning compound or polish residue from buffed panels sanding.
Moving vehicles to support production flow.
Completing work order documentation.
Wearing and using appropriate safety equipment at all times.

Key Job Responsibilities
Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.

Hammers out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage if possible; mixes and applies filler resins to repair dents when other methods are not feasible.

Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Required Skills/Abilities
Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.
Other Requirements
Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Compensation Details:
FLAT RATE
$19 - 25 / Flat Rate
Flat Rate Compensation is a performance-based structure directly tied to turned hours, also referred to as booked hours. In the event that total compensation in a pay period is less than minimum wage, clocked hours will be calculated with a guarantee of applicable local or state minimum wage, whichever is greater.
Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.
