Looking for someone available Tuesday and Thursday from 10-7pm and 2 Saturdays a month The Program Manager is responsible for delivering a high quality personal customer experience by ensuring that Sylvan education programs are delivered by teachers as designed and that the ongoing education needs of Sylvan families are met. To ensure a personal learning experience, they also monitors student performance, meets regularly with families, and connects with school teachers to help ensure the application of skills learned in the classroom. They also observes and coaches the teaching staff, ensuring robust instructional experiences. The Program Manager also communicates with the Center Director regularly to ensure quality and consistency of the customer experience. Job Description Job Posting: Sylvan @ Schools Tutor for New Academy Canoga Park Sylvan Learning, the industry leader in supplemental education, is seeking dedicated Tutors to join our team in the Los Angeles area to provide tutoring on school sites. The majority of this tutoring will occur at local elementary schools providing essential reading and math tutoring. Locations: We have participating schools in Carson, Downtown LA, the Glendale area, and in the San Fernando Valley. You will also be hosted by a local Sylvan Learning Center nearest you. Duration: Sylvan @ Schools Tutors can expect to work during the school year and on any summer contracts. Compensation: - Training $18.25/hr -$25.00-$26.00 Schedule: - Tutors can expect to tutor between 1.5 hours to 3 hours per day, 3 days per week. Tutors will be assigned to a specific school. - Tutors are required to arrive 30-minutes before their scheduled tutoring to set up. - Start date: November 2025 - About 10 hours of training and preparation. Responsibilities: - Deliver guided, scripted curriculum to groups of up to 10 students on local school campuses. - Set up and manage the learning environment, utilizing Sylvan's proven programs. - Motivate students with resources from our on-site toy store. - Collaborate with Program Manager and Director to ensure smooth program execution. - Attend online training provided by Sylvan and participate in shadowing experiences. Compensation: - Hourly rate: $25+/hour Schedule: - Tutors can expect to tutor classes 3 hours per day, 3 days per week with time on either side for set up and break down. Tutors will be assigned to a specific school. - Tutoring will occur between 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM and may vary based upon the needs of the school and their bell schedule. Tutors are required to arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled tutoring to park, enter campus, and set up. - Start date: September 22, 2025-December 12, 2025-for Session One. February 2, 2026-May 15, 2026 for Session Two - About 10 hours of training and preparation.
