Elevator constructors, also known as the elevator and escalator installers and repairers, install, repair, replace, and maintain elevators, escalators, moving walkways, and other similar equipment. They must assist mechanics with any mechanical and electrical installation as well as repair and check and monitor the equipment's operation visually and audibly. They must be able to perform complex repairs to motors, controls, switches, hydraulics, and electrical systems, so mastery and knowledge about the equipment and electrical system are necessary.
