Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to collect water and wastewater quality control samples, and perform routine field analysis. Essential Functions:

Collects water and wastewater quality control samples and performs routine field analysis.
Performs installation, retrieval, and required maintenance of all field sequential automatic sampling equipment.
Participates in groundwater monitoring and soil sampling.
Picks up and delivers plant samples to the laboratory and resets samplers.
Participates in conducting industrial surveys.
Conducts special sampling to test pH of storm water, groundwater wells, and soil samples.
Maintains accurate logbooks, routine reports and prepares chain of custody cards.
Participates in special investigations of water pollution complaints and industrial spills.
Maintains and calibrates sampling equipment and instruments.
Performs routine housekeeping as necessary.
Under the direction of the Environmental Project Coordinator, may perform necessary tasks to maintain and/or expand the Utility Line Vegetation Program, Sediment Removal Program, Utility Corridor Reforestation Program and other environmental programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; one year of work experience that shows an ability to maintain steady employment in any field.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.

Applications Engineering

Interns within the Applications Engineering department may be tasked with the following:

Interns within the Research & Development department may be tasked with the following:
Manage data collection and interpretation to prepare effective, meaningful statistical evaluations, graphs, and tabulations within written and oral reports for accessibility by other internal departments, and external customers.
Use and maintain process simulation and modeling tools to support internal departments.
Due to the location of testing services, candidates for this position must have access to a vehicle throughout their term of employment (mileage reimbursement available).
Additional Potential Opportunities during Internship
Each intern may also have the opportunity for additional experience within Aqua-Aerobic Systems as time permits. Program Timing and Duration

Job Summary
DJ&A is seeking two seasonal Rangeland Monitoring Technicians out of Reno, Nevada, with one year of relevant experience to work March/April through September 2025. There is a possibility of an earlier start date and/or a transition into a full-time position for the right candidate. Candidates will have a bachelor's degree in rangeland ecology, natural resource management, or biology and at least one year of experience with rangeland or vegetation monitoring. Qualifications may be met through education, experience, or a combination. Technicians will be paired with a field lead, and as a team of two, they will conduct rangeland monitoring on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) administered land throughout Nevada. Technicians may also participate in fieldwork in other states across the West. This position requires working, hiking, and camping in remote areas during the spring, summer and fall. Technicians must be detail-oriented, enjoy being outside for long periods, work well with others, and be interested in learning about rangeland science.
Primary Duties and Schedule
Technicians will conduct rangeland field monitoring for an average of 5 consecutive days, up to 12 days maximum. Fieldwork will typically occur during the work week, though there may be occasional field stints that extend into the weekends to maximize efficiency. A typical schedule will be one week in the field, followed by a week in the office.
Technicians will be responsible for a large amount of data entry and will be expected to enter, manage, and review data with accuracy and consistency to ensure high quality. Attention to detail is essential and expected.
Fieldwork is often located in remote and rugged areas of Nevada and will be accessed using a 4x4 truck, UTV, or on foot. Road conditions can be highly variable and challenging. Technicians will be expected to share and comfortably handle driving and vehicle maintenance responsibilities alongside field leads. UTV, trailer, and other related training will be provided.
Safety is DJ&A's top priority, and all field personnel are expected to perform tasks and act in a safe manner in accordance with company policy and internal training.
Field Data Collection Overview
Monitoring methods include but are not limited to Key Species Utilization, Height-Weight Utilization, Production, Riparian Multiple Indicator Monitoring, and Photo Plots. All crew members will participate in protocol trainings to ensure understanding of relevant monitoring methods, data entry procedures, and QAQC processes.

Office Work Overview
When not in the field, technicians are expected to work in the office located in northern Reno near Parr Boulevard. Some remote work is allowed but must be approved by the supervisor.
Technicians will assist the field leads with QAQC of field data, maps, and notes.

Technicians will be paired with a field lead, and as a team of two, they will conduct rangeland monitoring on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) administered land throughout Nevada. Technicians may also participate in fieldwork in other states across the West. This position requires working, hiking, and camping in remote areas during the spring, summer and fall. Technicians must be detail-oriented, enjoy being outside for long periods, work well with others, and be interested in learning about rangeland science.
Primary Duties and Schedule
Technicians will conduct rangeland field monitoring for an average of 5 consecutive days, up to 12 days maximum. Fieldwork will typically occur during the work week, though there may be occasional field stints that extend into the weekends to maximize efficiency. A typical schedule will be one week in the field, followed by a week in the office.
Technicians will be responsible for a large amount of data entry and will be expected to enter, manage, and review data with accuracy and consistency to ensure high quality. Attention to detail is essential and expected.
Fieldwork is often located in remote and rugged areas of Nevada and will be accessed using a 4x4 truck, UTV, or on foot. Road conditions can be highly variable and challenging. Technicians will be expected to share and comfortably handle driving and vehicle maintenance responsibilities alongside field leads. UTV, trailer, and other related training will be provided.

In partnership with Penn State Behrend, Pennsylvania Sea Grant is excited to offer paid summer internship opportunities for undergraduate students seeking to gain experience in the areas of communications, education, outreach, and research. The purpose of the internships is to contribute to an ocean and Great Lakes workforce that understands technical and social challenges facing coastal communities as well as the natural environment. The experience will help prepare undergraduate students from all backgrounds for graduate school and careers in science, policy, management, and outreach focused on oceans, Great Lakes, and watersheds.
The internships are offered in Pennsylvania as part of the Community Engaged Internship (CEI) program, which is offered by Sea Grant programs across the country. Environmental Literacy and Workforce Development Intern
Pennsylvania Sea Grant's statewide reach includes three diverse coastal regions: the Lake Erie, Susquehanna River, and Delaware River watersheds. Environmental literacy and workforce development (ELWD) is an educational priority across these distinct watersheds and is fostered via educator professional development programs, adult and youth education initiatives, print and online resources, opportunities for college and university students, and community education events. Pennsylvania Sea Grant seeks an environmental literacy intern who is interested in watershed education with a focus on Great Lakes, river, and ocean ecosystems; educator professional development program content and delivery; and action/stewardship project development and implementation.
Specifically, the intern may:
● Catalog and update existing PA Sea Grant K-12 lesson plans and activity guides to ensure they address current PA academic standards, that the content is accurate, and that they meet accessibility best practices.
● Refresh and update existing loanable education kits to ensure they address current PA academic standards, that the content is accurate, and that they meet accessibility best practices. Additionally, investigate partnership opportunities for implementation of statewide loan distribution protocols.
● Gather and organize resources on a Great Lakes Literacy relevant topic and assist in developing an online, self-paced educator professional development program.
● Assist with in-person and online educator professional development program planning and implementation, including Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs).
● Attend meetings with formal and nonformal educators and related partners.
● Additional opportunities as appropriate.
