We are seeking a Duct Fabricator to join our shop team. This position focuses on hammering ductwork by shaping, assembling, and finishing sheet metal components according to job specifications. Key Responsibilities Fabricate rectangular and round ductwork using hand tools and powered machines Hammer duct seams and joints to secure fit and integrity Follow detailed fabrication instructions, drawings, and templates Inspect duct sections for quality and accuracy Ensure all pieces are properly labeled and organized for delivery to job sites Assist with loading/unloading materials and maintaining shop organization Follow all safety protocols and use PPE appropriately Work as part of a team to meet production goals and deadlines Qualifications Prior experience with duct fabrication or sheet metal work preferred Ability to use hammers, mallets, brakes, and hand tools with skill Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Reliable and punctual Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods Willingness to learn and follow instructions Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus Why Join Our Team?     Job Description The SEEC Welder will play a crucial role in the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of boiler components, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our boiler systems. The Welder should have expertise in various welding techniques, a strong understanding of boiler systems, and a commitment to safety and quality. Duties/Responsibilities: Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as TIG, MIG, and stick welding. Fabricate and repair boiler components, including pressure vessels, pipes, and structural elements. Ensure the integrity and strength of welded joints in accordance with industry standards and codes. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to accurately execute welding projects. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure precise implementation of project requirements. Conduct routine inspections of boiler components to identify and address issues related to corrosion, erosion, or wear. Perform weld repairs on boiler tubes, headers, and other critical components to maintain operational efficiency. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Participate in safety meetings and training programs related to welding and boiler operations. Conduct quality checks on welded joints to ensure they meet specified standards. Document welding activities, including materials used, welding parameters, and inspection results. Collaborate with Boiler Operators, Maintenance Technicians, and other team members to execute maintenance and repair projects. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a coordinated approach to boiler maintenance. Maintain and clean welding equipment regularly to ensure proper functionality. Report any issues with welding equipment or tools for timely repair or replacement. Stay updated on advancements in welding techniques, materials, and safety practices. Propose and implement improvements in welding processes and procedures. Required Skills/Abilities: Proficient in TIG, MIG, and stick welding techniques. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Familiarity with boiler components, operations, and maintenance practices. Strong commitment to safety protocols and guidelines. Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality welding work. Effective communication and collaboration within a team environment. Strong problem-solving skills to address welding challenges and issues. Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Welding certification from a recognized institution is preferred. Proven experience as a Welder, with a focus on welding in a boiler plant environment. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
