Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled coordinator to help support our scientific teams that will identify new ways to treat human diseases. The candidate brings enthusiasm along with organizational and time-management skills. This role is based in the vicinity of Cambridge UK and hybrid work arrangements will be considered, but all applicants will require permission to work in UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the use of human tissue to be used in experiments, including

- Work with commercial vendors for purchasing of available tissue or arranging prospective collection
- Helping the scientific team setup collaboration agreements with non-commercial organizations (e.g., foundations, universities, hospitals) to obtain human tissues
- Proactively identify potential new sources of tissue, and make initial inquiries to source organizations
- Manage the overall pipeline of planned/ongoing/completed shipments and partnerships across FL86's US and UK sites
- Ensure our storage and use of human tissues remains in compliance with local regulations
- When required, work with FL86 or partner organization in creation of documentation (e.g., IRB/REC applications, collaboration agreements) to support tissue acquisition
- Collaborate closely with other team members across the organization, especially FL86 legal/IP counsel, lab/facility managers and operation leadership
- As time permits, support other member of FL86 in general desk-based lab management activities, such as, procurement, bill payments, equipment sourcing, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in a biology-related topic, or relevant work experience
- Experience working in a biology lab, and a strong understanding of basic biological principles
- Familiarity with handling of animal (ideally human) based tissue
- Strong organization skills, with ability to manage a large number of small-scale projects in parallel without heavy micromanagement
- Candidates with experience in (a) Working with human tissues, (b) Hands on lab experience, (c) Scientific/grant/technical writing, (d) Logistics/procurement experience, or (e) UK/US/European human tissue regulations, will be preferred
