Overview:
The Holland School of Science and Mathematics at Hardin-Simmons University is seeking a Professor of Computer Science (Exempt) to join our growing department. The university is expanding its STEM initiatives, and the Computer Science department is an integral part of this growth. We are looking for a new faculty member to teach undergraduate courses and mentor students.
Responsibilities:
* Teach undergraduate courses in computer science, including topics such as programming, database, networking, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, UI/UX, system administration, and web development
* Develop and maintain curriculum to ensure high-quality education for students
* Mentor and disciple students to develop them into productive community members
* Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and academic advising
* Engage in research and scholarship to advance the field of computer science
Qualifications:
* Master's degree in computer science or related field; Ph.D. preferred
* Strong teaching and mentoring abilities
* Experience in programming, database, networking, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, UI/UX, system administration, and web development
* Ability to develop and maintain relationships with students, colleagues, and community partners
* Commitment to the values and distinctives of Hardin-Simmons University, as reflected in its Statement of Faith
