Overview:
Western Washington University is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our Urban and Environmental Planning & Policy Department as a Non-Tenure Track (NTT) Faculty member. The successful candidate will contribute to our mission of providing high-quality education and research in the fields of urban planning, design, sustainability, and environmental/natural resource policy.
Responsibilities:
* Teach undergraduate courses in urban planning, design, sustainability, and environmental/natural resource policy
* Develop and maintain a research program in the areas of urban and environmental planning and policy
* Engage in community designs, models, exhibitions, community service learning, and other applied works
* Cultivate environments that are equitable and inclusive of students, faculty, and staff with diverse social identities and backgrounds
* Support the success of students or professionals traditionally underrepresented in the field
* Participate in departmental and university service activities
Qualifications:
* Master's or doctorate in a related field from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience)
* Evidence of community designs, models, exhibitions, community service learning, and other applied works
* Demonstrated abilities in planning and policy history, methods, applications, and theory
* Demonstrated continued learning of current and advanced knowledge and practices in planning and policy fields
* Demonstrated ability to cultivate environments that are equitable and inclusive of students, faculty, and staff with diverse social identities and backgrounds
* Record of supporting the success of students or professionals traditionally underrepresented in the field
