Overview:
The Visual Arts Department at Roger Williams University is seeking an Adjunct Faculty, Visual Arts Studio Technician to manage and maintain the Wood, Metal, and Fiber Studios, Printmaking Studio, Painting Studios, and other shared art-making spaces within the Visual Arts Department facilities.
Responsibilities:
* Perform routine maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and facilities
* Train students and monitors on safe usage of tools and technical aspects of fabrication
* Organize storage of tools and materials, oversee check out of tools
* Oversee monitor schedule and responsibilities
* Monitor all Fine Art Building studios
* Maintain orderly and clean facilities
* Maintain safe storage and proper documentation of hazardous materials
* Source, order, and manage delivery of equipment, supplies, and materials and maintain stock levels
Qualifications:
* Experience maintaining woodshop equipment; experience and interests maintaining Metal tools, Industrial Sewing Machines, and/or digital 3D Fabrication tools (Shaper handheld CNC) preferred but not required
* Ability to demonstrate an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position
