Senior Structural Engineer/Designer

Overview:
Impact Recruitment has partnered with a full-service engineering firm in Fort Wayne, IN with remote/hybrid opportunities available. We are seeking a dynamic Senior Structural Engineer/Designer to join our growing Design Engineering Department.
Responsibilities:

* Lead a team of designers in developing plans, specifications, analyses, evaluations, maps, procedures, and reports

* Lead and perform engineering design tasks and coordinate with CAD teams in developing plans, specifications, and estimates for preliminary and final design of standard bridges, walls, and minor structures

* Identify and understand technical requirements of design projects and implement engineering principles to develop solutions

* Identify, interpret, and apply appropriate design standards and codes; ensure compliance with contract documents

* Participate in technical meetings and discussions; strategize solutions to complex or unique technical problems

* Identify technical differentiators and develop schemes for key project pursuits

* Oversee the design and construction of large projects including roads, bridges, sewerage systems, pipelines, and buildings

* Prepare comprehensive construction plan sets that include plan, profile, note, and detail sheets

* Adhere to QA/QC standards and procedures

* Oversee the design of projects from inception to completion

* Collaborate with engineers and colleagues, including mentoring junior staff

* Ensure projects stay profitable by monitoring budget versus project progress

* Possess extensive experience in managing large construction projects and the ability to ensure adherence to construction specifications and standards

* Design and recommend improvements to computer-aided design (CAD) software drawings and schematics

* Utilize our design software Civil 3D or MicroStation

* Superior leadership, project management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

* Documenting processes and presenting project progress updates to senior managers and clients

Qualifications:

* A minimum of 10+ years of experience

* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

* State-licensed and certified civil engineer

* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

* Licensed, Professional Engineer (PE) in State of Indiana
