Lecturer Pool in Department of Politics (Academic Year 25/26)

Overview:


The Department of Politics at Cal Poly Humboldt is seeking a pool of temporary lecturers to teach a range of courses in the Department's curriculum. The pool will be used to staff courses as needed, and appointments will be made on a semester-by-semester basis.
Responsibilities:

* Teach a variety of courses in the Department of Politics, including but not limited to American Government, Intro to Political Theory, Environmental Politics, and more

* Develop and implement engaging and effective teaching methods

* Mentor and advise students, particularly low-income, first-generation, and students of color

* Participate in departmental and university service activities

Qualifications:

* Master's degree or Ph.D. in Political Science or related field

* Documented teaching effectiveness in course content and familiarity with Government Institutions learning outcomes

* Evidence of effectiveness and inclusive pedagogy in teaching and mentoring low-income, first-generation, and students of color

* Preference will be given to candidates with documented successful teaching experience at the college level within the last three years
