Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Instructor Adjunct

Overview:
Clover Park Technical College is seeking a highly skilled and innovative instructor to build a supportive environment for adult learners as they train for a career as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT). The successful candidate will collaborate with other faculty in the School of Healthcare and carry out functions related to the position described.
Responsibilities:

* Provide classroom and lab instruction utilizing a variety of teaching techniques to prepare students for employment in the manufacturing industry. * Create, implement, and modify curriculum as required to meet learning outcomes. * Maintain and manage classroom environment, equipment, tools, and supplies. * Create and maintain an atmosphere of professionalism and mutual respect with students. * Utilize online learning management system and incorporate multiple modalities into curriculum planning. * Maintain a safe environment through instruction, policy, and continuous evaluation of program equipment and laboratory space. * Provide career guidance and job placement assistance. * Assess and provide feedback on student competencies as established by industry standards. * Maintain accurate student progress records updated in a timely manner and assess and provide feedback on student learning. * Submit student grades in a timely manner. * Coordinate teaching and clinical education. * Supervise applied laboratory learning experience. * Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree (with the ability to obtain either a master's or doctoral degree within 3 years of hire). * American Society of Clinical Pathology - Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist. * A minimum of three years of work experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. * Three years' teaching experience (1 year of bench work which includes training can be substituted for each year of teaching experience). * Experience in educational methods and administration as well as current NAACLSS accreditation procedures and certification procedures. * Minimum of thirty-six hours of continuing education in the past three years. * Ability to contribute to the college's commitment to diversity by fostering a climate of multicultural understanding and appreciation.
