Overview:
The Student Professional Worker I position is a temporary, part-time opportunity for students to gain on-the-job training and experience while pursuing their degree. This position is open to the public and is accepting applications from August 15, 2024, until the needs of the service are met. Responsibilities:
* Assists in collecting and analyzing statistics, doing research, and making investigations and special studies in a variety of occupational fields. * Assists in the preparation of reports, press and radio releases, and other documents. * Assists in the administration of psychological and other tests to patients, and in the performance of laboratory tests and analysis. * Assists in group supervision and training of juvenile wards of the courts. * Assists in identifying and cataloging birds, mammals, and fossils. * Assists in processing writs and judgments, filing legal documents, and making entries of legal action. * Acts as a guide for student tours of County departments. * Performs related clerical work as required. Qualifications:
* Current enrollment in an accredited college having academic standing equivalent to sophomore, junior, or senior year. * Valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions. * Successful candidates must provide proof of academic standing and current enrollment during the hiring process.
