Adjunct Professor, Surgical Assisting (Applicant Pool 2025-2026)

Overview:
We are seeking an Adjunct Professor, Surgical Assisting to teach coursework in a manner that reflects a commitment to the college's core values, an understanding of culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field.
Responsibilities:

* Teach courses in accordance with the schedule of classes and follow the approved course descriptions and syllabi established by the Division faculty and administered by the associate dean/director. * Teaching assignments may be on one or more of the college's campuses or off-site locations and may include evening and weekend programs. * May include Dual Credit courses. * Perform other duties as assigned. * Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and core values.
Qualifications:

* Associate degree in Applied Science or an associate degree in Science or higher from an accredited institution. * A minimum of two (2) years of experience, either in the operating room surgical assisting role or as an instructor in surgical assisting, or a combination of both, within the past five (5) years. * A minimum of at least 3 years' experience as a surgical preceptor. * Teaching experience is desired. * Must hold current credentials in CST, CFA/CSFA in the field of surgical technology/surgical assisting through NBSTSA certification program accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). * Current member of Association Surgical Technology (AST). * American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification for Health Care Providers or equivalent required.
