Police Volunteers (Non-Paid) - Grant Writers

Overview:


The Miramar Police Department is seeking committed and dedicated individuals to join our Police Volunteer program as Grant Writers. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting the department's administrative and clerical tasks, allowing sworn personnel to focus on more critical responsibilities. In return, you will gain valuable insight into the law enforcement system and have the opportunity to make a positive impact in your community.
Responsibilities:

* Perform routine to moderately complex administrative and clerical work to support efficient and effective office operations

* Assist with data entry, filing, typing, cataloging, copying, and telephone answering

* Support staff in the performance of their assigned duties

* Perform various duties, except actual police work, to relieve sworn personnel of other responsibilities

* Assist with grant writing and research to support the department's initiatives

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED equivalent

* Ability to type with accuracy

* Commitment to a one-year term of service

* Must be a U.S. citizen

* Must be at least 18 years old

* Must have a clear background

* Must have a genuine desire to serve the community
