Child support specialist job description
Overview:
The School Support Personnel (SSP) will work with the East Valley Parent Partnership (EVPP) to support homeschooling families through classes, curricula, equipment, and testing. As a key member of the EVPP team, the SSP will provide guidance and support to parents and students, while also developing and teaching enrichment courses.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and teach various enrichment courses, including art, piano, guitar, pottery, cooking, science, math, and more
* Create a syllabus for each course and manage classroom cleanliness
* Order supplies and materials in alignment with the program budget
* Manage a classroom of up to 15 students and facilitate lesson plans
* Develop and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment
* Communicate effectively with parents and students
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent (SSP Substitute)
* AA Degree OR completed the ETS Praxis OR have earned 72 quarter/48 semester credits (SSP)
* Experience working with children/students
* Excellent time management
* Ability to be on your feet most of the day
* Comfortable using/learning School Data Systems
* Ability to manage a classroom of up to 15 children
