Senior Transportation Planner IV

Overview:


The Senior Transportation Planner IV assists in planning, implementing, and coordinating the overall bus system, including the planning and coordination of new bus routes, modifications of existing bus routes, and the determination of the level and effectiveness of service. The position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing traffic planning projects in the Site Development Division of the Department of Planning and Permitting.
Responsibilities:

* Assist in planning, implementing, and coordinating the overall bus system

* Plan and coordinate new bus routes, modifications of existing bus routes, and determine the level and effectiveness of service

* Develop, coordinate, and implement traffic planning projects

* Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:

* Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited college or university with major work in city planning, architecture, engineering, economics, sociology, public administration or a related field

* At least three years of professional work experience in architecture, engineering or socio-economic research, including or supplemented by one year of professional work experience in transportation planning and/or engineering projects

* Possession of an appropriate valid Hawaii State driver's license (
