Planner V (General City/Urbana Planning) (SR-24)

Overview:


The City of Honolulu is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planner V to join the Planning Division, Development Plans & Zone Changes Branch. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and updating long-range regional plans, monitoring compliance with conditions of unilateral agreements, and reviewing affordable housing projects.
Responsibilities:

* Participate in the development and updates of long-range regional plans and special area plans

* Monitor compliance with conditions of unilateral agreements (UAs) via reviewing and commenting on various applications and plans

* Assist with reviewing affordable housing projects for compliance with applicable requirements

* Independently review, evaluate, and draft reports recommending action on proposals for zone change and zoning district boundary adjustment

* Conduct research by gathering and analyzing land use, economic, social, and environmental data related to assigned projects

* Respond to inquiries and perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in city planning, architecture, engineering, economics, sociology, public administration, or a related field from a regionally-accredited college or university

* Four years of professional (post-bachelor's degree, non-clerical) experience in architecture, engineering, or socio-economic research, including or supplemented by two years of professional work experience in city planning or related planning activities

* Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license
